Re linking the routes, I thought there were some early posts suggesting this was an extension north from Newport. Now, I may well have read between the lines, although some previous posts suggested a common route origin???
From my own understanding, it is a standalone, not an extension :)

According to RW Tools the start point of the South Wales Coastal is Bristol
I don't think the route could be combined if the start points are different - although it has been done

Pretty sure Welsh Marches was set up with the same route origin as South Wales Coastal... not sure if it was posted here or on fb, but definitely saw comments to that effect somewhere

Hi guys,

Apologies for the slow response on this one.

The Welsh Marches Route does indeed share the same origin with DTGs South Wales Route, so it can indeed be merged.

Best wishes,

Ben, BMG

Hi Ben, throughout this year you provided improved textures for most or all of your products. However the .ap file for the original Black 5 pack distributed by Steam is still dated June 2018. I remember you wrote before in this forum that this pack should be updated too. Has the update ever been released...? And if not, is there a plan to do it and when could it be (if known)?

Thanks a lot.

I sent the update to DTG and although they received it I haven't heard a peep back from them regarding this. I will chase them up.

Best wishes, Ben

Great, thanks a lot, Ben. However, with DTG, it may take months or it may even never happen (I know of such cases). If it is not against any policy or agreement, would you consider publishing the update on your website? If it is just textures and not anything else, I don't think it would be useful to anyone not owning the pack... and I know that some content creators did this in the past (Jan Bleiss with the Berlin-Wittenberg route for one if I recall correctly).

Guys, I have a question - in the LMS cabview on the BMG black 5 there is no tea can but the footprint and shadow is visible on the textures although these are hidden by the it on the BR version. Is there any way to make the can appear in the LMS versions? Bearing in mind I'm technically an idiot so any editing would have to be moron-proof...

I see Traction magazine has a piece of the Welsh Marches route...

Some good info on the variety of freight on the route - must pick up a copy for future inspiration when the route is released, and hoping that scenario writers for the release version are also having an inspirational read through...!!!

Just looked through the video stream for the Welsh Marches route. It’s a route I’ve travelled many times, and I have to say it looks fantastic.

Surprised to see that the Panteg steelworks loop is still in place, although it’s a shame the quarry south of Shrewsbury is no longer linked to the rail network (haven’t travelled the line for 4-5 years, not sure when they were lifted)

Agreed, what a stunning looking route, I've only just noticed this! Definite purchase for me, even though train sim has taken the back seat for me at the moment, tsw getting more playtime.
Great looking scenery, really nice track with smooth curves. Nice one!

I see that BMG are asking which countries users would like to see new routes in...

As someone who doesn’t post on fb (except family content), I add here in hope of it being seen...!

- Wales
(Loads if scope for interesting routes - valleys, industry etc...)

- Norway
More in the spirit of the question, not been done (?), some interesting routes?
