No Derek, it will UNSUBSCRIBE you from all the Workshop content you've subscribed to, just as the button is actually labelled and how every post giving you the instructions has been phrased---in theory those items would then be removed but it's been noted that this isn't always the case. That's why Peter added the instructions regarding a subsequent deletion of any scenarios left with RW Tools.
That may seem a petty thing to moan about, but if you get the wrong thing into your head to start with you'll eventually end up doing the wrong thing.
Shows how easy it is to get things *wrong* though, none of us have got this far through life without doing the same. It also illustrates just how focused you need to be at times---in this case there's no damage done, but if there was a delete option for the Workshop stuff and that using that option would cause more grief.........
I intend to do a full manual backup of the "Railworks" folder, onto my removable hard drive first, as a precaution. This takes 3 up to 3 hours to complete, so I can only do it when I dont need to be using my PC for anything else. (I dont like doing anything else at the same time that a backup is taking place).
Phew ! Well...I finally took the plunge regarding Workshop Scenarios...
1. I did a full backup of my "Railworks" folder.
2. I pressed the "unsubscribe from all scenarios" button via the STEAM/Community pages. (This stuck on the "removing/unsubscribing from your scenarios" button, and after an hour or so I could see no more was happening on my PC so closed that message down, and all my scenarios had in fact been unsubscribed after all).
3. I then went to explorer and deleted all the subfolders in the "Workshop/Content/24010" tree, (leaving the 24010 as an empty folder)
4. I then, as was informed, saw that when checking on RW Tools, there were quite a few "Workshop" scenarios still showing, so I deleted every one of those in my routes that were still showing them.
5. I rebooted my PC, and booted up Train Simulator...hanging on to the edge of my desk as it did so !
6. Train Simulator booted up ok, and although I have only tried 2 scenarios from different routes, IT STILL WORKED ! PHEW !!
So where do we go from here I ask ? Should I concentrate on leaving things alone for a while ? Or should I try subscribing/installing some of my old scenarios via the STEAM Workshop pages ? If I recall, is there some advice to leave WS scenarios alone for a while until the proper relevant game updates have been uploaded ?
Thanks for your help and I await your comments as to where I should go now

Not that I've seen, and if such a suggestion has been made I'd say it wasn't by DTG but by someone who doesn't know any more than any of us in here.
Have a go at the manual method of acquiring Workshop scenarios, http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 981360461d--you only need to try a single one to see if it's of any use but it does bypass completely any need to go through what you've just done, removal of any scenario you didn't want any more being just a deletion of the scenario folder either manually in Windows/File Explorer; through the game's editor; or through RW Tools.
Well, I unsubscribed from all my workshop scenarios, and then cleared the remnants with RW Tools; result, no difference, still getting Access Violations. So I then did a plain vanilla install with no 3rd party Add ons or scenarios, everything seemed ok, but wait, there it is again, Access Violation. Tried the same scenario, ok. Tried another - Access Violation. Ran again, all ok. Did a quick drive, no problems, answered the phone , turned round and Access Violation. Fed up to the back teeth. PC meets recommended requirements, runs fine for everything else.
Looks like Train Sim will be shelved for a while until I have nothing better to do with my life.

I've been adding to my TS2019 installation ever since the original Rail Simulator came out back in 2007, and have inevitably downloaded and installed a lot of stuff since then that is either not entirely compatible with today's version or for some reason has become corrupted. Given that my installation was topping 369Gb, I thought it was about time to start again from scratch, particularly as I'd been getting numerous Access Violations and dumps to desktop since the latest upgrade. I started this long process three days ago.
Phase One is complete and thoroughly tested using the 64 bit version - making a new backup, deleting everything and acquiring the DTG stuff through verifying the game cache integrity. So, although I have only got the DTG stuff on my new installation so far, I have not, at any point in the last three days, experienced a single Access Violation message, any crashes to desktop, and scenarios freezing - in fact, it's performing perfectly, probably for the first time ever!
Next step is to methodically add back in, from my backup, all my third party routes and assets, one route at a time, then one scenario at a time, then test again. My theory, particularly as a DTG-only installation does precisely what DTG have always said the 64 bit version will achieve, i sthat it's the third-party stuff that causes either the vast majority or even all of the errors in my installation. By rebuilding it this way, I'm hoping to figure out precisely what add-ons are causing bother and, using RW Tools, download fresh copies of all assets. If a particular add-on or asset is no longer available, I'll load my backup files, test, and if problems arise, consign it to the recycle bin. If they work, they stay installed. It also seems a good way of getting rid of all those files that are no longer needed, duplicated elsewhere, and slimming down my installation, which is currently on a 500Gb SSD, so not too much room left for expansion at the moment.
The goal is to eliminate the constant errors so that hopefully, the end result will be a complete installation once again, but one that works as the sim was clearly designed to without all the SBHH / Violation / dump messages of the past. Should keep me busy during the dark winter months!

Isn't that basically what Peter and myself have been saying all along?

Doing exactly the same as you after following Gary and Peters advice and so far everything going well. Getting a nice smooth and almost constant 60fps, no crashes and very happy at the moment. Thank you Gary and Peter.
Best wishes to all
David
Blimey Ash, you have set yourself a task there matey! I am in the same situation "stuff" wise since 2007, but thinking of all the interdependencies in just scenario's alone makes me balk at the idea Ash!
