South Lancs and North Cheshire - Earlestown Problem?
Hello, I'm posting this as I'm unable to PM members, and also stop see if others have the same problem.
Does anyone else have an issue with the South Lancs and North Cheshire route, whereby around the western end of the Earlestown platforms the route crashes and dumps? The route loads fine at any other start point, but even when driving as soon as you reach Earlestown the game dies.
Logmate seems to refer to a memory issue, so I'm assuming there is an asset just west of Earlestown that the game doesn't like. Does anyone have any idea as to what may be the cause?
PS. After some further investigation I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Bold Colliery area? Does anyone know what assets were used to create this area? Was going to try reinstalling them selected assets. The problem also arises on the 'Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria and Piccadilly' route released before the North Cheshire upgrade

Hi. I am one of the route authors. I will prepare a list of assets for the area and post later today. The original route has been around for a good few years now, and this is the first report of such a crash. It suggests that you have a corrupt asset file somewheremikeredding91 wrote:Hello, I'm posting this as I'm unable to PM members, and also stop see if others have the same problem.

Hi Mike
You can pick up a list of Assets used in the Earlestown area from this link https://drive.google.com/file/d/19c9ZIv ... sp=sharing. As you will see, it is all Default Kuju; DLC for the route; UKTS_FP; and the Yelland signals; plus the reskins for signs in WCML2\Scenery\Lights n Signs\LM_..... Whilst "creating" various building, we took one or two basic assets and resized them. You may have to check to see if you have a corrupt file somewhere

Oh thats great! I assumed it was a problem on my end as after a few searches it seemed like a unique problem. I'm grateful for your help! They both really are fantastic routes btw, genuinely enjoy playing them! I just have to remember to turn right at Earlestown
Many moons ago I used to live on the static home site in Moore just where the WCML and Runcorn line split south of Bank Quay, I vividly remember watching Pacers waiting at the signal to join the WCML for a platform at Bank Quay.
I'll reinstall the required assets and hope that works. Thank you very much for your help!

If you send a grid reference (and an image if possible) we will include it in the next phase of SLANC (delayed because of our regression of NWC-BRB - http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5&t=148578)mikeredding91 wrote: Many moons ago I used to live on the static home site in Moore just where the WCML and Runcorn line split south of Bank Quay, I vividly remember watching Pacers waiting at the signal to join the WCML for a platform at Bank Quay.

It's already there! In the SLANC version. Just south of WBQ when the line through the yard rejoins, and then over the bridges (I remember there being a footpath on the bridge too), the WCML forks to the right (to then swing under the line to runcorn further on) and the line to Chester forks to the left. The park is in the 'V' of that fork
Im looking forward to the NWCBRB too!

Yes, I noticed the caravan park on Google Earth.....checked that it was on one of the period maps that we used, and added it in.mikeredding91 wrote:It's already there! In the SLANC version. Problem solved! A re-install of WCML Over Shap did the trick. Thank you for your help!
As for the park, it's them kinda little details that I really like on a route! The only thing that I assume isn't evident from Google earth is that the line is on a slight embankment at that point, not particularly high, maybe 15 feet or so. It's a pretty minor detail in the grand scheme of things

Unless I can get down to street level on streetview it is very difficult to get the terrain perspective - having said that I have just had a quick look on streetview and I see what you mean about the embankment, it might be possible to drop the terrain level by a few feet around the caravan park without destroying the track.......I will try to remember to have a look when we return to Slanc.

I'll put it on my "to do" list for SLANC, as it will mean an embankment loft being installedacfreeman99 wrote:Unless I can get down to street level on streetview it is very difficult to get the terrain perspective - having said that I have just had a quick look on streetview and I see what you mean about the embankment, it might be possible to drop the terrain level by a few feet around the caravan park without destroying the track.......I will try to remember to have a look when we return to Slanc.
