Yes, exactly. I can easily edit the route to delete the miscreant foliage, but I'm also mystified and would love to be able to work out the reason.Alex55 wrote:Yes. But I for one, am just a little curious to find out the reason why some have it, and some don't.gptech wrote:It doesn't matter where the tree, or any other spurious scenery object, is from---just drop in to the editor, select it and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

No misplaced foliage here, checked all the seasons to see if it makes a difference!

Re: WCML & the Midlands V5
Could it be that it is there, but has a level of detail (LoD) of 1 or 2. So those with their settings at maximum do see it, and those who have lower settings do not. Go into the editor, navigate to the location in question, then set the big orange slider* at the bottom left to the right hand side (max value 10). That way, any object will show. If it still does not show, look for a "milk bottle" (or better still use Mully's cooling towers) to show that the item has been laid, but you do not possess it.Alex55 wrote:Yes. Nick
* The value that the slider is set at, plus the LoD of the item, must add up to 11 for the item to show. Any sum of 10 or less will mean that it is invisible

Isn't that a tool to temporarily *hide* scenery when route building and not a setting for playing the game?brysonman46 wrote:Go into the editor, navigate to the location in question, then set the big orange slider* at the bottom left to the right hand side (max value 10).
If I remember rightly (I'll check when I'm home) that slider is set at 1 when you enter a route in editor mode, and is only invoked by moving it all the way to the right and back to make stuff disappear so you can see what you're doing.

Yes. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I am suggesting that it is looked at IN THE EDITOR. And once the LoD is set, go back into gamegptech wrote:Isn't that a tool to temporarily *hide* scenery when route building and not a setting for playing the game?brysonman46 wrote:Go into the editor, navigate to the location in question, then set the big orange slider* at the bottom left to the right hand side (max value 10).
And I wouldn't use it to "hide" scenery when route building - too big a danger of accidentally deleting an object by mistake!
When I open up in editor, it is set at 7! As far as I recall, it always has done. Maybe I did something way back in settings!

The shunt neck at Watford Jctn isn't electrified according to my scenario editor, my 319 won't route there? tried a modded version of my "off to the abbey" scenario.

Just had a look. Watford Yard Neck, which is used for reversing to either Watford Yard Siding 3 or 4 are all electrified.smarty2 wrote:The shunt neck at Watford Jctn isn't electrified according to my scenario editor, my 319 won't route there? tried a modded version of my "off to the abbey" scenario.
The non electrification of the other sidings was based on what I could see using Google Maps overly.
If I have got this wrong, it can be easily remedied .

Re: WCML & the Midlands V5
Martin, did the scenario editor state that it was due to no electrification, or give no electrification as the first of the 3 usual lines it displays? (other two are directionality and a traverser in the way I believe)

Re: WCML & the Midlands V5
I am most impressed with this latest version of the route. I did a drive with an HST from Euston to Birmingham and found the route most smooth riding.
The only glitches I found were the Airport Transfer tracks to Birmingham International Airport and some "fittings" at Birmingham Station.
Both of these will undoubtedly be due to a couple of the free items I did not install or maybe because I do not have the Hamburg Hannover route installed on this particular drive of mine.
One of the things I am most happy about is the fact that the overhead line is correctly fitted with regards of the line being "pulled" into position on the curves {Not Pushed} Having been a farm fencing contractor I understand the physics of how wire behaves. If it were pushed to the outside it would choose the lesser line of resistance and flip downwards and simply go slack.
That is just one of the idiosyncrasies I have with about many routes not understanding the OHL setup. The first person to have it properly sorted would be Keith Ross of the WCML north and WCML over Shap.
I find it a shame that some others have not taken a leaf from that part of his routes.
Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Roland.
I tried to a couple of screenshots, but it made my PC close down.

Re: WCML & the Midlands V5
I did a run from Rugby to BNS in a 350 stopper and thought I'd better pop in to say what a great job has been done, Abfab darlings.
Didn't see a single milk bottle and a lovely smooth ride.
Will brave up and try Cov to Euston tonight.
Thanks so very much for all the top class first rate hard work that's been done. Much appreciated.
