All I did to make a desktop shortcut icon was to right click on the Railworks 64 bit exe in the main railworks directory, select from the menu create a desktop icon, when I had done that I went to my desktop and right clicked on it there and selected pin to taskbar which just requires one click to start TS.

I do know how to make a desktop shortcut, Trev - it just doesn't work for me since the upgrade.

Hi Ash, it needs steam to be logged in before a desktop shortcut will work. I've got a shortcut to start steam and a send to desktop shortcut for the 64 bit version - all the steam ones start the 32 bit version! :)

Behave yourself Trev - my answer was simply a factual one.

That's what I can't understand Mark - Steam is online and I'm logged in...

That is very strange, Ash - I created the shortcut in the usual way and it worked first time.

And your answer was factual!

I think you are the one who should behave your self and stop being so arrogant!

Does that apply to both 32 and 64bit versions Ash?

I'm starting to think that my processor (Intel i5-3350 Quad core 3.10GHz) can't handle 64bit, as playing two Rosgar scenarios (First Deltic over Chat Moss and Torbay Tornado) both threw up the access violation error. However, the first one crashed on 32bit as well in the exact same place, and seeing how much a new processor would cost (even a secondhand version of the recommended one) meant that the second scenario crashing barely five minutes in caused me to feel physically sick.

Yeah, my anti-virus did not like the 64 bit .exe at all, had to give it permission and add it to my executables list.

Has anyone tried a scenario you have made in the 32-bit version and running it in the 64-bit one had this weird anomaly? Thought I'd try a scenario that struggled running on the Freiburg Basel route under 32-bit, it ran great only thing was all my static consists and Ai had gone awol? :o

Rosgar have mentioned on their Facebook page that they have had problems with some of their scenarios using stock from a company no longer trading. That may be the problem you're seeing with those scenarios.

Even though it's been running 64bit Windows for how long?

Generally that's a program trying to access a memory location it shouldn't. More a PC configuration problem than a hardware one.

I take it none of those having bother have tried a new installation of Steam/TS?--it could run alongside your existing one, just install to a different folder.

I have - and I still can't get the 64bit to run either on or off line?

Is there a clue here - when I click on the Railworks64.exe file (either in the Railworks folder or via a shortcut) there is a quick mouse indication (I get a tick on the desktop icon) then nothing else happens?

Trav.
