A huge thanks for this. I've just downloaded your zip, but as it's been a long hard day, I'll look at installing them with a fresh mind tomorrow.gptech wrote:If you're invited/nagged to sign up to that site (it usually doesn't, but everywhere seems to be *recruiting*) just decline and proceed to the download. Extract the contents of the .zip archive into your Assets folder; no default files are changed as the statics live in a self contained additional branch of the folder tree---that makes it dead easy to delete too if you produce/find a better way of doing it---the files I've produced are provided with the stipulation that editing/using them, or any variation in the thinking behind them, in your own creations may only be done if you want to. In other words do what the hell you like with 'em; if you improve/simplify them what's to complain about?

Re: Rolling stock to static scenic item
Got it to work and it's brilliant. I initially missed the bit about copying three of the original files across, but once I sorted that out it worked well.
There are a couple of fine tuning things. The roof A/C fans are missing textures. Any idea why this is? The tab key for track alignment is really helpful, but it always aligns the vehicle one way. Is there any way of inverting it's direction of action? If you use the manual rotate it immediately breaks any alignment which can't be restored.

The fans will be missing textures because I missed them out---thought I'd added them to the download but obviously not. Dead easy to fix, just copy the Fan.TgPcDx file from the default model. As I wrote earlier, I'msure I've come across static assets that have the snap to track by default anxious and will spin and retain that, but I haven't had chance to track those down yet. They might (if they do exist) give a huge clue.
