Just done a full run of it in the 150- magnificent route! lovely trackside detail and vistas too.
Thank you very much for releasing it to us Xavier, I had to get 'Return to Meardy' in the sale to run this, and so pleased that I did. Love Epping-ongar and especially your 1066 route, which is my childhood train journey from TW to Hastings- never thought I'd see that in TS.

It's impossible to complete a scenario on this route without SPADing/speeding---you're too busy admiring the wonderful scenery and praising Xavier's route building skills to concentrate on driving!

Once again, a winner Xavier.

Many thanks for creating this route. I have had a few runs with the 150 in both directions, quiet enjoyable. Decided to clone and then edit the 150 scenarios which transformed the route into a real Autum wet and Rain day. That transformed the route completely. Stopping and starting from the many stations required a completely adapted driving technique. Great route, well done.

Just done my first run on this line. What an absolutely wonderful addition to this route. I was wondering though, if they extend the route to Holyhead will this cause any problems either to this Conwy extension or to a future Holyhead extension?

At this time I would probably say no, though it will depend on the ability to merge the relevent tiles from the old route into the new route.

What is likely to be more irritating is that it is likely is that DTG would have cloned the route for the extension, as they did with South Wales Coastal Swansea extension, which makes already existing scenarios not fully transferable.

Scenarios will port over to a cloned route with no problems, a straight forward copy & paste of the scenario into the new route's Scenarios folder is all that's needed; issues only arise when that clone is edited---changing the names of markers is probably the best example.
That's no different to DTG (or any route builder/provider) extending a route and also making those changes to the original part of the route.

That's still not a huge problem though, scenarios don't take that long to edit, particularly when all that's been changed are marker names; slightly more involved is when the track has been revised which can lead to consists not actually sat on rails, but they're easily grabbed in the editor and out back in place.

I think Richards question was more along the lines of "if DTG extend the route, will this extension still install to that extended route" though, the answer being "yes it will, but it'd wipe out the DTG extension and you'd be left with a pre-extension copy of the route with the Conwy line."

Doncha just love Tracks.bin?

As far as I am aware, just copying the Scenarios into a new Route folder will cause problems with the Scenario database (2 scenarios with the same ID in 2 different routes). I always clone using RWTools, and say yes to cloning the scenarios. That way, the scenarios as well as the route get new IDs.
Should DTG decide to extend to Holyhead, then I will be chopping the Tracks.bin just West of Conway, and joining it to our BRBlue version (plus the track tiles). I can then add in all the lines removed after 1980. Andy can then get down to regressing the scenery to 1980
So not a problem with the Conwy Valley extension. Just need to do a chop and merge with the new route. It will be an hours work (judging by my chops of WCMLoS for Steaming over Shap)

Does anyone think that at some time in the (hopefully near !) future, the N Wales route and this route will be released as a stand alone route, and not dependent on having to purchase TS 2018 ?

I have my reasons for not wanting to purchase the TS2018 pack and they aren't relevant here at this time, but would love to have both routes. Am just curious if anyone in the know, might have any ideas ?

Thanks

Derek
