The expansion first....
Messy.
Add to that, as intimated above, you'd be adding files to a route's asset set that aren't used in that route--confusing as well as messy.
Copying those files would also give you multiple .bin files pointing to the same .GeoPcDx. Duplicate files with the same descriptive text so only one would show in the available assets listing, meaning you wouldn't be sure which one was used if you set to and built a route. That might be a very big 'if', but the possibility is there.
OK... a pre-updated CCfE gives rise to this at Par in ACL...

Looks like a milk float has spilt it's load.
Run ACL through RW Tools, and amongst all the *missing* assets (most of them will be assets you do have, just 'hidden' from RW Tools by being in .ap archives) you'll find

That's just 14 individual assets, definitely not enough to be a reason to buy another route, when they're duplicated in CR's ECML
Select the first one in RW Tools, click the "Substitute Missing Scenery Item" and work your way through the directories to the file in ..\Creative\Rail\EastCoast\Scenery\Procedural to select the version you have.

Click 'OK' and that's the first one done...

Work through the list, just make sure you have the 'Loft' check box selected when you do the loft item in the list

Once you've done 'em all....

The only one you won't be able to swap from East Coast is the Treffy Viaduct, which was changed as part of the CCfE update---I'll see if I can find what the original asset was.
Copying the .bin files for the platform blocks from CR's East Coast to CCfE will get them to show in ACL, but those copied .bin files will still be pointing to the East Coast folder to load the .GeoPcDx files and therefore the textures.gptech wrote:Yes, but mostly no Derek....
