The amount of detail they've done on this route looks superb. The only small point from me would be the use of their 3d trees and lineside 'weedage'. I can't quite put my finger on it with the 3d trees, but they look a bit too exotic looking for the UK if that makes sense?! I think their 2d efforts look far more realistic for the UK routes. To be fair, I don't think there are that many excellent 3d trees for this sim anyway. Also, some of their lineside weeds don't seem to blend particularly well with the surroundings imo. Some of the best looking trees I've seen are in the Konstanz route, but they are mostly 2d - but still seem to go well by the lineside. Small points really, I don't want to detract from what looks to be an excellent route in production from them - it will be an instant purchase for me. I do have quite a penchant for trees and weeds in the sim, weird I know, but for me it all adds to the immersion!

I agree, but there are some nice trees available from railsim.de.

BTW - for those who are not aware of it yet, when Marylebone to Aylesbury will be out, it will be available as both standalone and as extension to the Chiltern route for those who have that route already.

Cheers,

If I get this one when it's out and later get the Chiltern one, will they fit together? Or would I have to buy Chiltern first?

Ben.

You'd be better off asking JT direct---how can any of us (who know just as much (little?) as you) say what will be?

Hi, I'm pretty sure it's like great western. You can have them as stand alone routes, or you can have the Chiltern Mainline then add a version of this to it.

JT posted an update to Facebook:

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 5899053322

Basically they aim release some day next week, there will be two versions: standalone, or add on to the Chiltern. The latter will be priced cheaper.

Some scenarios will require extra stock.

See product page for more details:

Just had a glance at the details for this route and noticed that scenarios London-Aylesbury-London are showing FGW class166, I would have thought that Chiltern stock would have been more appropriate, or have I got it wrong?.

I don't recall seeing any FGW stock? Are you sure you're looking at the right route?

Yeah, you’ll need Class 166 FGW (Steam) for the Chiltern reskins to work.
