Hi Smarty

Thanks for the info.

So basically ALL scenery is pretty much complete apart from a small section near University Station Selly Oak areas ?

If thats the case, I will look at downloading this route very soon !

Cheers

Derek

I wonder if anyone can help please. I cannot get this route to load at all - not in QD mode, not in Scenario Editor or anything. Always, it crashes to a dump file after about 45 seconds. I?f I open the dump file in Word Pad, the last decipherable entry is "Goblin Lines.blueprint" Yesterday, Goblin was crashing too, but I've done a reinstall of my entire Train Simulator and Goblin works, but Birmingham Extended still doesn't. I have tried minimising the graphics settings to no avail.

Anyone else experienced difficulty?

Streeter, cut the Scenarios folder out of the route and paste it somewhere safe.
Before starting the game, double click on LogMate.exe in your Railworks folder to load the logging software.
Start the game, choose 'Build' from the main screen, scroll down the list of routes and click on Birmingham- Bristol. Then click the 'Edit' button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
If you've a problem with the route itself it'll fall over, and Logmate will have recorded everything the game loaded or tried to load. Copy and paste the last dozen or lines of the LogMate report and paost them in here.
If it does load, fly around the world a bit, see if you can get it to fall over--try really hard!
If after all your efforts it still refuses to go boobs up, then that suggests you have a dodgy scenario.

Before confusing things by dealing with that though, try the above and let us know how you get on.

Thanks for offering to take a look gptech. I did as you suggested and it fell over when I launched Route Editor. Here are the last lines of the Log Mate record:

Vased on that, I have deleted Just Trains Chiltern Route and reinstalled it. Let's try again.

I wouldn't have gone as far as deleting/reinstalling but I'd say you were definitely right to suspect that set of assets first. If it falls over after the reinstall just rename the NL folder to NL-ORIGINAL or whatever makes sense to you to stop the game reading the files. If that results in the route loading then we can look at those 3 .bin files in detail.

Thanks. Yes the deletion/reinstallation of Chiltern didn't cut the mustard, I'm afraid. Just going to rename the NL folder and I'll report back.

Hi Chaps

I might be posting this in the wrong forum, but here goes..

Basically I mistakenly downloaded the FREE version of this route, thinking that all the lines in it were included and had full scenery. I have now found out that if one wants the Worcester to Hereford Extension, and places like the Kidderminster loop, you have to make a "small donation" for that version !

My question is, can I in retrospect, make a donation and download the route that includes these places, and will it install OVER my present copy ? Or do I have to completely delete my free route, and reinstall the version I want ?

Thanks

Derek

Are they still requesting donations and still using WCML Trent Valley as a requirement? This suggests they were told to stop.

Hi Guys

Does anyone have the contact details for the route author or publisher for this route please?

I need to know if you still HAVE to "make a donation" in order to download the parts of the route which include Hereford and Kidderminster ?

Thanks

Derek

Okay, I've cleared the cache. I deleted Birmingham 2010 and Birmingham to Bristol Extended, re-downloaded both and reinstalled them (in case any files were corrupted).
Birmingham 2010 loads where it didn't before.

Now I have deleted all "Subscribed" Workshop items in case something there wasn't playing ball.

Tomorrow night I shall have another go..................

Hi Chaps

Can anyone give me a definitive link, or instructions as to how I obtain the route that includes the Worcester to Hereford extension please ?

There seems to be TWO websites for xc (why ???) and neither make it clear as to how you obtain the version that includes the Hereford extension !!!

Cheers

Derek
