Like the OP Mike Simpson I also pre-ordered and paid for the Bulleid Light Pacific - Working days pack 7 months ago.
I understand that there was an apology and an explanation posted on Facebook that the nameplate creator had been unwell but was now OK.
That was 2 months ago.
I think an email to those whose money had been banked would have been a more considerate way of explaining the delay. I'm not on Facebook.
I did actually email SSS after waiting 4 months asking what was the delay and received what appeared to be an automated response thanking me for the email and that a response was being considered.
I never got an answer.
I have purchased most of SSS's excellent offerings (and enjoyed the excellent freeware also), and will continue to do so, but I will never 'pre-order' from them again.

Hi
Like Mike I ordered my copy way back last year because when they were announced I had the impression they were nearly ready for release,I think the pack could have been released by now,as the locomotives they say are finished,it's the headboards they are waiting for, according to the answer I got from them on Facebook, surely they are loosing customer confidence by keeping customers waiting so long.

I would have thought it better to release them and just add a patch when the headboards are ready.

This has put me off ever pre ordering anything from them in the future, not sure how many people pre ordered them, but the money we paid is making money for them stashed away in their bank account.

Don't be such a moaner. I pre-ordered it too, but it well turn up when it turns up no worries. As for the money in their bank account well good, give them the extra money to help them develope new content. :)

I agree, they have kept us informed and circumstances have occurred which are beyond their control. I ordered the industrial tank pack when it first became available for pre-order. i am sure Matt will not be running off to the Caribbean :D !

Steam Sound Surpreme has a fackbook page and you can message them. Matt has replied regarding the Bulleid Pack.
We've had a terrible time lately with many computer issues etc, and our partners have had their own different problems to deal with as well. The Bulleid Working Days pack is a source of great frustration for us. But we hope to offer some form of update on things soon. The delay is for the set of headboards that will be on each loco, scripted. But the headboard models weren't quite right. I'm now waiting on the update to that, then we can move towards release.
If you want info on progress just ask.

Cheers Ausc

I think anyone who has purchased and paid for a pre-order that hasn't appeared after seven months has the right to an explanation without being accused of being a "moaner".

I must be one of SSS's greatest fans, having bought everything they have ever released. However, I think they have dropped the ball on this one. Surely they have a list of email addresses of the people that have pre-ordered. It shouldn't be difficult to send an email to those people explaining why there is a delay.

Perhaps you should use FB. From their FB page 6 days ago. Question "when will the Bulleid Light Pacific - Working Days Pack come out" SSS reply "Can't give a date. We are currently awaiting the headboards being completed. Sorry for the delay." Most if not all vendors have a FB page and post on FB about situations, you just need to ask a question and they well answer, sometimes in minutes or maybe within the hour. I did this the other day for another game that I play that I had issues with, and had a reply within the hour which solved my problem. :)

With all the scandal going on with facebook at present, why should people be forced to use facebook to get a simple answer, after all it doesn't cost any money to send a quick email,to the people who pre ordered the Bulleid Working set, with just a short note saying why there has been a delay in releasing the set,it's been the not knowing what's going on that's the problem.
For me when I ordered the set I was 69,now I'm 70 :D

Dear All,

Image

We regret the long period of time the Bulleid Light Pacific - Working Days Pack has spent on PREORDER. It would not have been put up for pre-order if we had known the length of time ahead. We are extremely grateful to you for being extremely patient with us during the past few months.

The reason for the delay was outlined in a blog post a little while ago: http://sssworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/2018/ ... -news.html

I'm glad to be able to report that the initial set of 8 headboards have now been completed, and to a very high standard as well! The script is complete. A bright light has appeared at the end of the tunnel!

Warm regards to you all!
