This is the usual method but for the previous update, this didn't work for me.

Mike,

Try this:
  • Open Windows Explorer
  • In the address bar where you enter a folder name, enter:

    Code: Select all

    %APPDATA%\InstallShield Installation Information\{C7F1D81F-F41D-4F9F-9F68-B82FAA1126A5}
  • Now run the

    Code: Select all

    setup.exe
    that you will find there.
Let me know if you succeed, or if you need more help with these instructions!

--Tim
PS: Depending on the configuration and setup of your computer, it is also possible that the uninstaller for the route is here at this path instead:

Code: Select all

c:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{C7F1D81F-F41D-4F9F-9F68-B82FAA1126A5}\Setup.exe

Does anyone know a fix for the signls please? They are very bright in the distance and then suddenly about 400 yards away suddenly become much smaller and darker ( a LOD problem?) It applies also to the Mosel and Konstanz routes. DTG German routes are so much better in this respect particularly at night, even though of course they are deficient in other aspects.

This is the community upgrade, read the description before downloading as there are some caveats.

It installs as a separate route. Not sure my O Level German was up to the caveats but there weren't major problems installing and it seems to run smoothly. There is already one scenario for it ( a nice one) on railsim.de. Not sure if scenarios from the original route will work properly (I think that's one of the caveats). It also comes with a useful ai-only 146 and Dostos. The Germans seem so much better at producing ai stock - particularly the three major packs available which are widely used. I'm surprised nothing similar has been done for the UK.

Did you get it to work?

I have downloaded and installed everything and have unpacked Ordner ist mit Passwort geschützt!.7z and am done with step 1. Step 2 is confusing me since i don´t understand german so i don´t really don´t know what to do with the folder named 113b4589-93d2-423f-91bc-7f2f7acbbda3 when i have copied the textures from the original route. If i place it in the TS2019 Routes folder it won´t show up as a route. Help me, bitte! :)

Having unpacked it just paste the Assets and Content folders into railworks. The new route is a standalone in Content/routes. All you need to do as well is to go into the original route and COPY the textures folder from terrain to the new route terrain folder.
Best of luck - worked for me.
Robin
Edit - remember you also need to download the several signal packs for the new signalling to work

That´s just what i did but when you wrote earlier about the scenario on railsim.de i realized that there are no sceanrios shipped with this upgrade, so when i created one it showed up. I did download everything and installed it earlier. Will uninstall end reinstall those signals tomorrow since i got too many unexpected red signals though a restared TS2019 prior to running my scenario that goes through the route without any stops.

Though i appreciate their work i still wonder why they release this in a password protected .7z with the password somewhere in the readme file...

It's to make sure people actually (hopefully) read all of the readme instead of winging it and then complaining to the author about something that's covered in the readme.

You don't need to rely on O' level German, right click on the web page and you should see the option to translate in the box that pops up. Translations can be a bit strange, but normally you can get the point. Other caveats are the LZB doesn't quite work as it should and one of the three sets of signals is not so bonnie and a bit bright IIRC. Will be installing later, other priorities first.

Community update now updated to V1.1
https://www.raildesigns.de/downloads/ae ... aded-v1-1/
Don't know when - only spotted the change as a requirement for a new scenario.
