Just to say after running the route,I'm really pleased with it,and to tell the truth the scenery knocks spots off of the RSSLO scenery, especially the mountains,I know it has niggardly faults which should have been sorted out by now,as they appeared in other routes.
I also like the fact that they use VR loco's and I presume the stock is VR as well.

It's vR stock but the same as used on Koblenz - Trier and Konstanz - Villingen. In other words, it's not Expert Line stock.

Just mentioning it so that nobody gets the wrong expectations :)

re ICE AFB. Thanks Peter I had already guessed that the controls were the "usual" ones. I get the AFB announcement, set the speed bug, and begin but it continues to accelerate beyond the speed set. Anyway not to worry . it's not something I would use regularly just trying out the initial scenario.

That is one of the reasons I like this route,no EL locomotives,I can get in the cab,and just drive of,no faffing about pressing this that and the other, before driving off, advance models are just to much hassle for me to comprehend.
disadvantage of having a stroke.

Control + Z Michael old pal sorts that pesky complication out! Plus the newer releases of Vr stuff is already good to go unless stated in the scenario editor to cold start, as far as I know?

True but still the driving takes a bit more care, not just the startup. You need to be careful about not overloading the engines, extra keys for AFB, on the BR111 you got the typical power joystick like thing which always makes driving a bit more complicated in my opinion - so even after startup, these engines take a bit more care!

I can understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. :)

I'm quite enjoying this route, especially the old stretch between Weilheim and Schliengen with it's curves and tunnels and rockfaces. The part that the new high-speed line was built to avoid ;-) - that's my favourite part of the route.

I'm a little disappointed though that in QD there doesn't seem to be any AI traffic. I hope that more QD scenarios, with AI, will appear on rail-sim.de.

Kind regards,

Had a first run on this route and found it very enjoyable with scenery well done and interesting terrain.

Hi Tim, I have never overloaded a single Vr elok and never use PZB or sifa anyway (PZB boggles my mind) and find them as easy and simple to drive as a DtG offering! No offence Maik!!! :)

Well - I certainly have managed to overload my vR EL loks! Giving too much power right on startup, or too much power for too long for what the engines are rated for.

Part of the challenge that I enjoy - but it does mean a little bit more attention is need then just "press button, go" which is for a lot of DTG trains... ;)

Thanks for the heads-up -- I don't think I got an e-mail informing me of the update!

I had some trouble uninstalling the previous version - I could not remove it via the "normal" route, the Windows Control Panel. I had to explicitly start the installer previously downloaded.

As far as I know there is no e-mail, I saw the news on Facebook and railsim de. You should have been able to uninstall from the control panel, but you can't uninstall the old version using the new installer.

Trying to install from the control panel gave really weird errors. First it asked me for my registration information again, and to accept the terms of the license - then it asked for a "disk 1 with file data2.cab" ...

Running the installer for the previous version directly, it did ask me the expected choice of uninstalling and then did so without asking me for license information or anything!

I'm glad that I could find the original download quickly and hadn't yet moved it to backup storage! :D
