Atomic Systems

On my system it does not seem to bad but I have only does part of one scenario but no lagging or problems.

That's what I was trying to point out,the fact that Peterborough hasn't got the 7 platforms,but it still has the feel of Peterborough.
One of the complaints about the New Woodhead Route was Piccadilly had the wrong track layout,to someone who didn't know the area fhey wouldn't have noticed any thing wrong,the same goes for Peterborough,I live in Bretton so I know the track layout is wrong for the current era.

The only difference is the track layout at Peterborough was correct for the time period the route was set to - the track layout at Piccadilly is not.
But as most of the Signals are missing anyway it's a moot point about not being able to arrive in some of the platforms

As a footnote another new platform at Peterborough is Platform 3 next to the Up Fast where I alighted last year having travelled around the Joint line from Newark to Peterborough via Lincoln

I opened a ticket with DTG this afternoon to report my early findings to them

In one of the articles about this reworking of the route was the comment

Mistakes can’t be corrected or improved upon in future if they aren’t known about!

Some things might be fixed, things might not. I doubt full on track changes are possible as that would end up breaking more than it would fix, but at least you can say you tried and if anything with Piccadilly was done in the future at least it would be known not to repeat the same mistakes

Peterborough might be correct for the time period, but Huntingdon isn't!. In the sim, it has a new footbridge, and at the risk of going off-topic, the station building doors are way too short in height, and the track layout at the teo bridges north of the station is incorrect!.

Hi, well that was a surprise when I took a quick look at the new DTG Live site and found something new being sold mid-week.
So popped over to here to see the reaction and oops
Then I read the whole lot of replies and realised I was with many of you I don't actually know the area from real life and I loved the original route, so I am more than happy to make my purchase and enjoy the fresh new look, with the nice new BLUE stuff.

Re-photo, 1st post.
I notice the track in the picture looks very much like wood sleepers and as I imagine it was way back then.
But the TS route seems to be all concrete sleepers, or is it just my aging eyes playing me up again?
Great route though and really enjoying it so far.

No we have concrete sleepers most of the way apart from sidings in the DTG route - even in Piccadilly station
But not in real life of course.

Regarding the 3 Locos that come with the route, I have tried all 3 and my opinions sofar:
Class 08, Looks great, easy to drive, but the Horn is IMO far too quiet.
Class 506, Looks great, easy to drive, but found I could not get the tail light of the rescued unit to light. I know you cannot normally get into the cab of any "Dead" loco, but IMO there should be some way that the last vehicle, should have its tail light switched on.
Class 76, looks great, but certainly tricky to drive in Expert mode. I need to try again, taking Manual with me to guide me through some of the bits I overlooked.
Rolling Stock. The ones I have experienced sofar have excellent sounds when being coupled up to or uncoupled and when being moved, most realtic IMO.
All-in-all, I am liking the purchase very much.

I did not say there were No Concrete Sleepers - just not everywhere as in the route on the mainlines

Hi Peter. I haven't purchased the route yet so as you seem to have experience of the route at this time, are there any glaring errors in the route. I watched one of the You Tube vids and noticed the semaphore's outside Piccadilly which didn't look right.

Is it a good representation of the route towards the end?

Steve, I'm just a Southerner So would know (or care) about the acuracy
I already have the two other versions but it's such good value with the stock included I could not resist.

It's great fun to drive and a bit sad to see the dilapidated state of some stations, so it is real enough for me to feel an emotion of sadness and a bit of anger that some clot shut the route and now others, 40 yrs later, want to build another one in its place a VAST cost. cause they could not think ahead.
Bit like the Great Central Railway and HS2. Idiots all of them.

Buy it, you will not regret it, and if you dont agree afterwards, Steam will give you a refund anyway.
