Didn't Virgin test Pendolinos on the ECML just after they won the franchise there?david1 wrote:That was surposed to have been a joke.gptech wrote:I think you've missed the point David: Peter was questioning why dingerb seemingly seems (seemed?) to think that this model couldn't be used on WCML-N. It's got nothing to do with whether anybody prefers to drive Pendos or not.
The class 390 can be driven on any electrified route, not that I would drive it on anything other than any part of WCML because I prefer realism, but there is no reason why it could not be driven on the ECML or even the Woodhead line as different voltage has no boundries in TS.

you seem to either not read this full post, or you just jumped on the 390 because you don't like it! this new rendistion was reputed to be resorce heavy.so I have tested it out on 4 different routes now and all passed, and I saw no drop in FR or any stuttering.david1 wrote:That was surposed to have been a joke.gptech wrote:I think you've missed the point David: Peter was questioning why dingerb seemingly seems (seemed?) to think that this model couldn't be used on WCML-N. I did make a scenario for the WCML (M) freeware route for the 1st test and was getting a dump file. the reason why most likely was the downloading of windows updates in the background when 1st running the scenario.all this was posted.
I did not say it was un-useable.or that it could not be used on a electrified line.if you had read the post I did try it with the C/R ECML .not for the sake of relism! but to test this loco on routes not made by DTG or Thompson.

Re: Reworked Class 390 "Pendolino" from DTG
Interestingly I have had two occasions now where the train has split in two. Well that is to say in the external view I have found the trailing carriages to be some quarter of a mile or so behind the front 2/3 - however in all the 2D views it is still one train and indeed the detached rear section still accelerates and stops in sync with the front. Luckily frequent saving has allowed me to get back to a complete train to finish the scenario with.

It also happened on rare occasions with the original model so i assume it has carried over from there. I dont think anyone ever figured out why though.

Thanks. Fortunately never experienced that on the original. This seems to be slightly different as it is only the appearance of being a train split in two, whereas the two halves start and stop together and carry on acting as one. Very odd, will report to DTG.SkylineBoy wrote:It also happened on rare occasions with the original model so i assume it has carried over from there. I dont think anyone ever figured out why though.

As spellow3010 rightly says they were tested briefly on the ECML but it had nothing to do with the Virgin East Coast franchise. These tests happened 3 years before the franchise.USRailFan wrote:Didn't Virgin test Pendolinos on the ECML just after they won the franchise there?

Armstrong Powerhouse have released their newest soundpack, for the Class 390.
In case anyone was wondering, yes the Pendolino within the actual product does have Virgin branding. Its just the screenshots, trailers and anything on their website that has no written or pictoral reference to Virgin.

Re: Reworked Class 390 "Pendolino" from DTG
Apologies if this has already been brought up but I've noticed two odd things with the Class 390.
1. The braking distance seems to be different in the two scenarios I've tried (with the same notch used and similar grade) and the only difference between the scenarios is that one is dry and the other is raining (first scenario vs the "Full Tilt" one). Is this just a weird bug or have they simulated different rail adhesion in rain?
2. Sometimes during braking for a stop at around 50-60 mph the brakes fully release for a few seconds which screws up stop requiring me to use emergency (increasing the brakes doesn't make them apply again but you just have to wait). This has to be a bug right?
