Reworked Class 390 "Pendolino" from DTG

Re: Reworked Class 390 "Pendolino" from DTG
made two more scenario's.no added AI. WCML (shap) starting at Preston to Lancaster. loaded and ran fine.FPS on average 60 dropping to 28 in places. now just to try a route not made by DTG or Thompson.used the Creative Rails East Modern starting from Newark to next Portal no added AI.
again loaded and ran no problem FPS average 35/98 though not as many trackside assets to load.
it seems and others say, that the Trent Valley is a bit of a hog on FPS.that said ran the scenario that came with the 390 at 22/56 AVARAGE.it ran ok.
a shame that WCML (M) seems to be a no go, if starting from or around Euston.others might have more luck.or someone give it ago.the 390 is made to be used on that route.

Tried it on a quickdrive on the WCML over Shap..... something very odd happened? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1360285391 Look at the F3 monitor, as you can see my train is stopped at Lancaster! But the F3 map shows I am stopped well before Lancaster????

The class 390 is rumoured to be so fast, that it can be in two places at once! It’s the reason it’s limited to only 125 MPH

Also, have you seen how quick the doors close? Just two or three warning beeps and bang, doors start closing and the warning beeps still going when the doors have been closed long ago- if that happened in real life, passengers would be stuffedmrant wrote:I have noticed the stepper doesnt open up when the door opens
Class 40's enjoyed their working life so much they whistled whilst they worked
Re: Reworked Class 390 "Pendolino" from DTG
extended the Preston Scenario upto Carlisle. it ran the route with no problems. no AI but FR was on average 60 that for the route I think is pretty good. now the DTG 390. it's not a loco you jump into and stare out the window.they have made a loco you work, and it's physics feel you are driving a fast heavy train, the tilt also add's to that. I think once you master the set up,which is very near to say an AP enhanced model or more so, you will enjoy driving it. and for those who own the older390 at £10.49 a bargain. even if you don't and pay the full price it's worth it. though I would say this opinion is only from the WCML Shap route. I hope that the WCML (N) into Glasgow and the built up part of that route can be used with the 390.
overall well done DTG.

Why would you not use that route with the 390?dingerb wrote: I hope that the WCML (N) into Glasgow and the built up part of that route can be used with the 390.
I think the original scenarios that came with the first version was for WCML-N and there are many scenarios on UKTS featuring the Pendolino between Carlisle and Glasgow.

peter, those scenario's use the old 390.this new 390 one is more resorce hungry.thats why the testing to find out if it can be used.
Re: Reworked Class 390 "Pendolino" from DTG
ok,yesterday tried a scenario from Euston the WCML (M) Freeware and kept getting a dump file. 3 other senario's C/R York-Peterbrough ran ok. trent valley fine. WCML (SHAP) fine.
today just finished WCML (N) Carlisle- Glasgow that ran fine as well. then went back to the WCML (M) and just made a fresh scenario. that went fine.
yesterday though on closing down. I had windows updates.installed those and now thinking back at the time I made the Euston run those updates were being downloaded. that I think hope was the problem.

have been able to run trent valley, shap and wcml-n using the new pendo without issue using a lower scenery quality setting. the good news is that the texture resolution of the external and internal models appear unaffected using this lower setting

Re: Reworked Class 390 "Pendolino" from DTG
Because they are horrible, prefer to drive class 87/90 instead. Back to topic although I have not got this, if and when I do, I would only use the new class 390 as the driver train and use the older version for AI`s as this will reduce the load on resources, I do that with a few items of traction already, I find the most resource intensive to be the Railright class 40 so only use this as the train loco and any others another version, I would assume that most people that have bought this already own the older one anyway or there is a deal on buying the two together.749006 wrote:Why would you not use that route with the 390?

I think you've missed the point David: Peter was questioning why dingerb seemingly seems (seemed?) to think that this model couldn't be used on WCML-N. It's got nothing to do with whether anybody prefers to drive Pendos or not.david1 wrote:Because they are horrible, prefer to drive class 87/90 instead.749006 wrote:Why would you not use that route with the 390?

That was surposed to have been a joke.gptech wrote:I think you've missed the point David: Peter was questioning why dingerb seemingly seems (seemed?) to think that this model couldn't be used on WCML-N. It's got nothing to do with whether anybody prefers to drive Pendos or not.
The class 390 can be driven on any electrified route, not that I would drive it on anything other than any part of WCML because I prefer realism, but there is no reason why it could not be driven on the ECML or even the Woodhead line as different voltage has no boundries in TS.
