This is on my 'planned' 2018/2019 to do list once I have finished the branches to my current project.wild5551 wrote:To fit with the WCML Over Shap, WCML North, and WCML Trent Valley, I'd say 1970s to the modern day, and I'd do Preston - Birmingham, with maybe some branches to make it less linear.

I refer interested readers to http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5&t=146383.Springer6 wrote:The one route that cries out to be done is the only remaining part of the WCML that we do not have in some form or other. Namely the route from Stafford to Preston ( yes I know we have a little bit at Crewe with North Wales Coastal, a bit at Warrington with Liverpool Manchester and even a tiny bit at Wigan with the Hindley to Southport line).
A route as important as WCML, which is one of the three premier routes in the UK ( arguably the most important ), deserves to be completed and not only for UK TS fans
Up to phase 2 is already published, and trackwork to complete phases 3,4 and 5 is almost complete (though scenery is still needed before publication). We will probably not do Phase 10, as that is in our regressed North Wales Coast - BRBlue (http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5&t=148578), so may extend from Crewe to Stafford.
The time frame used is around 1980

Re: TS Route Requests
In addition to the above routes, we have the WCML London & The Midlands , which is from Euston to Rugby plus the branch from Rugby to Birmingham. As long as any new route allowed a run from Preston through to Stafford (i.e. north end of WCML TV ) , I think many people would be very happy indeed.speedypete202 wrote:This is on my 'planned' 2018/2019 to do list once I have finished the branches to my current project.wild5551 wrote:To fit with the WCML Over Shap, WCML North, and WCML Trent Valley, I'd say 1970s to the modern day, and I'd do Preston - Birmingham, with maybe some branches to make it less linear.

Re: TS Route Requests
This was the idea. I would extend the Liverpool to Manchester route south and only include the WCML variants. i.e. BHM through to Stafford, Crewe and Preston and then the 'branches' from Norton Jct to Piccadilly, Crewe to Piccadilly, Colwich Jct (to link up with the WCMLTV), and Weaver Jct to Liverpool. This opens up lots of regional and inter-regional services and allows long distance, multi route, running via the WCML and XC services from the SW to Piccadilly. It would be set in the modern era.Springer6 wrote:In addition to the above routes, we have the WCML London & The Midlands , which is from Euston to Rugby plus the branch from Rugby to Birmingham. Only the very basics have been started for this route at the moment and I would not want to get anyone's hopes up for a release of anything until at least Q4 2018. Birmingham to Bristol Extended will take until Q3 to fully complete.

Re: TS Route Requests
I can think of 3 Steam Era Routes, the Midland and Great Northern either from Essendine or Peterborough to Lowerstoft via South Lynn,or Ely to Northampton via Peterborough East Wansford and Northampton.
Or Sidmouth Junction to Tipton St John, then either to Sidmouth or to Exmouth,on summer Saturdays there was a through train from the Eastern Region ran via the S&DJR,it consisted of Gresely Teak Stock, and Tipton St Johns the train split one portion went to Exmouth the other portion to Sidmouth.
loco's used over the route M7 Drummond 700(freight) BR Std 3 tank and BR Standard 4 Tank
Coaching stock Bulleid or Maunsell and Maunsell Push Pull Sets, there were also coaches removed or added to from Waterloo at Sidmouth Junction.

I'll second that, Mike! You probably guessed I would, but oh well.

As my first route Brum to Bris used more DLC than I should have done. The next project will be more reined in.
