Only a personal note, but the CrossCountry HSTs hadn't fully come on stream until the it was practically the 1980s, I wouldn't consider them first generation, to fit that title I would have preferred the 86. Anyway, the HST will be at home on some retro scenarios along the NWC when that comes out soon.

Nice to see a few added features to the class 47 instead of the normal bland stuff, so well done DTG.

The class 47 certainly looks good. I must admit I would have preferred a class 86 or 87 rather than the HST or as well as.

Not sure why they have a black headcode panel, don't think a VT livery 47 ever ran for VT with one? 47769 still in the livery has one but it didn't run for Virgin like it.

We've really jumped the shark here. On one hand we have people who criticise Dovetail for their one livery policy and here we have a post stating that a livery variant SHOULDN'T be included. Damned if you do, or don't. FWIW, I'm only kidding, but 47810 also got the black surrounds, but possibly after entering Cotswold Rails employ.

If you read the article you'll see that:
•Completely Reworked BR Class 47 in Virgin Trains Livery ◦Brand new cab model
◦Updated exterior model
◦Black and Yellow Panel variants
◦Authentic Change-End Procedure, including AWS isolation
◦Overload Faults and Reset
◦Cycle-able head and tail light configurations, including tail lamps
◦And more!

Completely missed that! Pleased that the non black headcode panel is modelled. Bit strange that every screen shot has shown the black one on examples that never had it but no worries.
Yep, forgot about 47810. One end only as it was flush fronted at the other. I had better not get into whether the models will have flush fronts!

Don't worry, if the DTG ones don't then I'm sure *someone* will have variants that could become available as similar has been done on some 47s that are work in progress.

I'd think an 86 would be far more common (and more fitting) on the WCML-N than a 47 too?

Is the HST the "normal" version from KRS days, the one from the Green and Gold pack, or a completely new one?

The 47 wipers increase in speed with throttle opening to become quite frenetic (not speed dependent but throttle). The reverse of course of the old 1960s Fords (with the wipers driven off the inlet vacuum). Surely they aren't/weren't really like this???
