Twice this has happened coincidental to me changing the view from 'head out of the window' to the external view of the front of the train.

I've done two quick drives with no issues, Crewe to Llandudno with AP 150/2 and Conway to Crewe on JTs 221 and taken many screenshots along the way with no issues. Usual issues with lag around water and overexhuberance with the trees. I haven't installed the AP route stability pack with the update for the NWC - that's a test run for tonight!

Interesting to see your account using a 3rd party train. Added to the various locos I have tried (it doesn't crash all the time), my QD consist is 6 WCML North Mark 2s in blue and grey.

And no Gary, I haven't had chance to test with the default route stock yet :P

I've created a little scenario set in circa 1998 with a Bangor-Llandudno Jct-Llandudno-Llandudno Junction using Oovee's 156. However, what I have noticed is at Conwy and L.Junction platform 2, the doors open on the opposite side of the platform and so people are crossing the tracks from the opposite platform, yet the doors open on the correct sides at Deganwy and Llandudno.

I have not tried it on a different model e.g. Class 150, just thought it a little strange, oh and also a set of MKIII's (which came with AP's 90/DVT I think) doors won't open at Platform 3 at L.Jct, whilst a set of MKII's do open.

Strange going's on.....

So is it the stock or the route, or even something peculiar to your system?...you need to do a bit more testing, and obviously find a willing victim to try on their setup.

This was reported a couple of weeks ago, by RolandBP, for a Workshop scenario using aCl101 http://railworks.freeforums.net/thread/ ... dno?page=2
The platforms at Llandudno Junction (and all the other stations in the Route) are "dead", and have a custom 3m Invisible Platform on top. I have exchanged all these fro a 1970s version in the regression at present being built. I will check to see if the same problem occurs with those invisibles

The above was also reported last week on the Steam forums and acknowledged as an issue by a member of staff, that they knew about it and that it would be looked at. Cannot for the life of me find the post in question now though, but it was there.

Just to say that the same problem occurs with a different invisible platform. Must be something built into the station itself (it is all one construction).

Well at least they know about the problem, going by a couple of posts above, hopefully DTG will address the issue and fix it

I've had no bother at Conwy, though the platform marker/passenger loft does seem to be a bit on the short side. Llandudno Junction 2 is *iffy*, but there may be a reasonably easy 'quick and dirty' fix until something official, or better, comes along...

...doors opening on the right side, though once again the marker/loft seems short (and no, the cars don't have the same number so it isn't the old 'same number = only one set of doors open' syndrome  )

Laying a stretch of track in the gap seems to kick it into a working configuration...

Image

I've used the rusty wood track there so it shows up for a picture; a better option would be to lay some of the invisible Railfan track, though of course visible track could just be lowered below the ground.

There's no need to be accurate, just any old how along the edge of the *problem platform* keeps the punters out of the way. This was only a quick test, with no AI services in the scenario, just the player train, so results in a busier situation may be different. Haven't time to test that though, nights this week so I'm off to bed shortly.

Thanks for the tip, Gary. Will try that on the regressed version.

This tip worked very successfully on the BR Blue version - a length of track buried just below the surface alongside the out-of-use platform.. The doors now open on the correct side of the train, and passengers no longer "walk on air"

Well, if he comes from his home in Anglesey to Llandudno Junction, he will be able to get off the train!
