Makes sense, as they lasted (only just... mostly as lengthened rebuilds which DT might be offering too) into BR days, but are appropriate for pretty well any livery the Adams wore/has worn (Apart from maybe EKR Green or Black or Blue, or whatever it was painted. Also maybe not Catterick/Longmoor (WD) Blue or Black with GWR safety valve bonnet... bit specialist that one! :o )

Ironclads would be nice too though. Personally I'd prefer a Southern push-pull set to be offered, preferably something nearer the Gate Stock end of the scale than the rather late (1959-ish?) Birdcage, Ironclad and Maunsell Rebuilds.

All the best,

DT just yesterday announced that their Axminster-Lyme Regis 20s-30s route would be extended to include the 27 miles of mainline between Axminster and Exeter Central. If they are considering appropriate main-line stock the LSWR-design ‘Ironclad’ coaches would be a nice choice. They lasted until the late fifties and some at least lived long enough to be photographed in SR green.

The trouble with push-pull sets is that some customers will complain if they are not made operational, and that would require a lot of extra work and a suitably fitted engine. As far as I know only Victory Works’ 14xx is so equipped (which would hardly be appropriate….). Still, DT have the M7,and an ex-LSWR gate-set would be nice...

I think the 60’ SECR ‘Birdcage’ coaches were converted to push-pull from the late thirties and the last went around 1961. 5 ‘Ironclad’ sets (BTK-BCK) were converted between 1958-1952 and lasted until 1962. The converted Maunsell sets were latecomers, from 1959, and were all withdrawn by May 1964.

Tonight on 'Sem asks daft questions': :D

When DT announced their recent sale on their Farcebook page, they said there would be an announcement of some sort over the weekend...

I didn't notice one being made, and there's nothing new on the website since C123 was released, so I'm confused as to what this announcement was or where I'm to find it?! Did it even actually happen? The post announcing the sale, in which the announcement of the announcement ( :o ) was contained has now been removed following the end of the sale...

semKitson-Still (I'm Confused... so I thought I'd add a loco that was confused about what it was! )

It's not on their facebook page but I did see a model of the LWNR Cornwall locomotive which is made by the same person who did the Caledonian Railways Single 123

I thought I missed something! About time we had some LNWR Stuff: not a particular North Western fan, but I think Cornwall may even appeal to me more than CR 123... until someone reskins the latter into fictional SR and LSWR liveries.

Looking forward to it: although I rather hoped Kris would go for something of Stroudley origin, be it North or South of the border...

HI Semi,
You can use the 14xx and Auto Trailer on the Lyme Regis branch, when BR thought the Adams were getting long in the tooth, they trialed them and a Pannier tank, the 14XX,1462 only lasted a week,as it was unsuccessful, and the Pannier the same.

In the 1920's even a LBSCR D1 and a SECR P were tried on the route without success, finally in 1960 a Ex LMS 2-6-2T 41297 was tried and proved successful, so another one was tried, 41308 was added to the allocation both locomotives were able to handle 6 coach trains without assistance.

From 1963 Dmu's took over, although due to a shortage of DMU'S in February 1965 41291 + a Hawkesworth Auto trailer was used, after they left a class 121 single car DMU was used until the line closed

Hi Mike,

I knew about the 1400 (Thanks for the number) as well as the O2, D1 and P, but thanks for the heads up with regards the Pannier. I knew 2MT's were used for a while, but thought they took over in 1962 (Following easing of some of the curves) before the 121's took over later on. Interesting about the GWR (Sort of... none of them arrived before 1948!) Autocoach though.

All the best,

The curves on the Lyme Regis branch were eased in 1959,the 14XX wasn't powerful enough for the steep grades on the branch.

Useful info, that. Do you know what design of autocoach was used with 1462? Doesn't make any difference - there's only one functioning one available! - but it could make a good scenario for the route, although it's set in the 1920's.

Just bought the N2, and it's fantastic! Really nice job there.

Sadly, a friend told me that he found a pirate copy of it, so it seems some a*******s are taking this hard work, and completely disregarding both the law and basic morals. I wasn't aware that people even did that with TS stuff, so it came as a shock and a nasty suprise when I was told. What makes it worse is that people actually download this, as my friend had done. I suppose he saw it as a free deal, but when so much work has been put into something it just isn't right.

Anyway, rant over!

It's been a problem for years, even before TS. VR, 3Dzug, and JTG made an announcement about it a couple of months ago, saying they had ID'd some of the perpetrators and were going after them with the law. When I was involved with a add-on manufacturer a few years back, they spent a lot of time tracking pirate files and getting them taken down. Apparently some people believe theft only applies to physical items and not intellectual property.

Yup that's just how gaming is I'm afraid. I've heard stories of releases being available on torrent sites even _before_ they were officially released...

I always buy my items either direct from the model maker or via steam, don't really trust stuff on facebook, other than VP and Rosgar.
Just wondering if there is any news of the BR version of the DT N2,I have the base model which is really good and also the very old one from the file library

It really is ideal for W&T, but I think BR Liveries are really needed for that.

Still, with an LNER-Liveried O4, B1 and some Teaks running around as AI, plus the LNER Liveried wagons included with the route, it can be nice running a non-BR scenario!
