Still, with an LNER-Liveried O4, B1 and some Teaks running around as AI, plus the LNER Liveried wagons included with the route, it can be nice running a non-BR scenario!

sem34090
Well they were never used on the W&T but will pass as a stand-in until we get a G5 or A8.

I too would like to know when the BR liveries are coming out?

RE
W and T, West Auckland Shed had one N9 in the 1940;s after that the only tank loco's were A8 until 1957,G5 until 1951,the largest classes were J71/J72 until 1961.

Pre WW2 tank loco's were NER A8 J71,J72

The N2 were originally built for the GNR,although later ones were used on suburban trains in Scotland

2 BR Add-Pack out now.

6 new locos: BR Early Crest, BR Early Crest Weathered, BR Gill Sans Lined, BR Gill Sans Unlined, BR Late Crest and “Railway Children” LNER locos.

20 new coaches, making the rest of the sets of the GN Suburban trains: 4 new models in 3 liveries and 8 new repaints in Crimson and Maroon. Prototypical 8-coach sets now possible.

And it's looking good. Unfortunately they seem to have missed off the fragments for the new quad consists, so the QD consists don't work (but loading individual coaches is fine). Shouldn;t take much to create them, but I presume they will issue an update

Also glad to see they got the manual right this time with the characters required to add destination boards, and remove the condensing pipes

Could anyone advise the correct formation for an 8 coach set(in the correct order)?

Also, how did these sets operate? Push-pull? If not, why only a brake at one end (I'm going by the earlier 4-car sets in the original GNR/LNER pack?

Chris
From Michael Harris, LNER Carriages, p. 56 (Noodle Books 2011): ‘Each train of quadruplets was formed by two sets of four carriages, one brake third set and one brake composite set, as follows: BS + S + C + C/T + T + T + BT.’

No push-pull, in a complete set there was a brake at either end.

Great, thanks Marcus. I did Google it but couldn't come up with anything, and photos seem rare. I didn't expect it to be push-pull, but was fooled by the 4-coach makeup of DT's first pack!

Now I'm off to construct an 8 coach consist!

There's a drawing of a LNER Quad-Art on Digital Tractions' Facebook page (18 February), illustrating were to put the 'long' (inner) and 'short' (outer) coaches.

I saw that, but couldn't really decipher most of it. But meantime, DT have now updated the pack to include the full QD consist, so now all good

Hi,
I was wondering if you can have say some of them set up as condesing loco's and some non condensing,in the same scenario
I was thinking using them on the Cambridge and East Coast Mainline route, where you have a N2 hauled train going from Hitchen to Moorgate, going via Kings Cross York Rd,that loco would have to be a condensing locomotive, but some of the AI trains would be a mixture of both types.

Yes, absolutely. Each loco can be edited via its "number" (actually the number plus other switches) in the flyout in the scenario editor, to enable or disable the condernsing tubes.

It is slightly different for the original GNR/LNER locos, and the new BR liveried set. The manuals cover it but unfortunately they got the first manual wrong by saying the "switch" was y/n, where actually it is t (small T) for visible condensers, and # for none (I worked them out by trial and error and a bit of intuition!). While the BR versions are t and f (true/false) as stated in that manual.

In all cases, the relevant character is the penultimate character in the whole line

So, with the 812 due for release on Friday, what do we reckon is going to come next?

I hope, and believe, that it will be the LSWR 0415 (Adams Radial), but what after that? Cardean? GER Claud Hamilton? GER G58? All have been shown on DT's facebook page. Kris seems to have done a huge amount of models, including an original LSWR T9 and some nice 0-4-0's...

I suspect the Adam Radial will be next. They mentioned an A8 in the recent past so I would hope that would be next but I suspect that may be some time off.

We need more passenger tanks (apart from the GWR)!

Yes, we do need more.

I rather fancy an LBSCR E4 myself... an E5 would be even nicer, but they didn't make it to preservation so are both harder to make and will sell to less people.

Just a heads up in case anyone hasn't spotted that DT are running an April sale....

The GNR N2 loco amongst others have a whopping 60% discount using code April60. Also when you checkout you are offered the chance to pick up the BR add-pack for £4.99 instead of £5.99.

The recently released CR 123 loco pack also has 20% off use code April20.
