Midland Mainline route. Scenario problem.

I am trying the scenario "40145 HUD Radlett Rambler Part 1". I get to the red signal just before Radlett Stone Terminal, and a message pops up saying I should press tab to get permission to pass the signal and enter the loop. When I press tab I get a message saying 'Permission denied'. At that point I'm stuck!
I assume this is a glitch in the programming. Can anyone help me out by telling me how the scenario can be completed, please?

Look at the 2D map and set the points/switches to give you a circular route. That should do it.

Duff info; on my other post but can't edit it. Should read "set route so that it runs into the short stub" then the signal will clear. Re-set as you go round to give full loop.
