Reading Assets in a Packed .AP file with RW Tools

Reading Assets in a Packed .AP file with RW Tools

I am cleaning up my Railworks Asset & Content files as Per the .AP file discussion
I have been playing with RW Tools and the first Directory in my Asset Folder with .AP files
BMG (Bossman Games)

The assets that I have are:
BRA2Pack01
NunneyCastlePack01
S15Pack01
S15Pack02

I have unpacked the appropriate .bin files in the directory's outside the .ap file
RW Tools reads the two S15Pack's but not the BRA2Pack01 & NunneyCastlePack01

I have tried the folder path and .bin files
Folder path with .bin and Preload .bin files

Still not reading
Anyone else done some testing to confirm what works and what the required files are!
Bossman Games products are great just trying to use the correct file management techniques

Thanks in advance

Don't forget that the BR A2 is a livery pack from Marketplace and you must have the LNER Peppercorn Class A2 'Blue Peter' Loco Add-On from DTG in the DTG Assets folder and I assume it is in an .AP file which you'll have to have opened as well.

Please guys, as per the other thread.... .ap = archive; AP = Armstrong Powerhouse-----saves a lot of confusion.

Make sure that the files RW Tools can't see aren't still set as "Read Only". Whether the files call for other files in other directories soesn't matter, what's needed is RW Tools to be able to see the .bin file in order for it to show when you want to swap stock etc.

Wouldn't it be better to get this thread merged with the other, keeping all the .ap conversations in one place?

Sorry about the wrong extension I will try and remember .ap archive (Old Fart)
The un checking read only did the trick for both the BRA2Pack01 and NunneyCastlePack01
The S15Pack01 & 02 read with RW Tools even though they where read only

Apply Read only to all Assets and Contents
Is it ok to just globaly apply to both Asset and Content folders
Quick and easy to apply

Extracting the rolling stock .bin files
I just open the .ap archive with 7Zip and copy to the RailVehicles Folder
Then just open and delete all bar the rolling stock .bin files and leave any script files
Quick and easy and the path has to be correct

Thanks for the support
OK to move
Cheers Auscgu

Yes, no reason not to have full control over your goodies.

There'sonly one perfect way to get the required files in the correct folder, and that's the way you find easiest/best. The main thing, no matter whether you initially extract all, a big chunk of folders, or just the single files, is that the required stuff ends up in the right place,
Scripts, in theory, stictly don't need leaving outside the .ap, though there may be circumstances (as outlined in the other thread) where this is so--makes a nice wee project for a few of us to see if we can get a handle on what's happening there, however I'd suggest not to do it unless/until you find the items involved don't work.
