Had a first run with the Warship on a Quick Drive, quite like it but....am I the only one with a missing nameplate or is supposed to be like that?

Try re-downloading a fresh copy of the files from Steam.

Superb pack. However, one thing I can't quite figure out - why only the Class 42 Warships and not the 43s as well?

Did they sound much different? I know the 43's used different engines and transmissions, apparently they were prone to pyrotechnic displays.

I wonder if DTG didn't include them for that reason. It personally wouldn't bother me, it would have been good to have all the names available.

First of all, first post on here so 'hello' from a long-time-lurker

Correct about the engine and transmission. External detail differences as well - different front headlights pattern, the position of the engine exhausts was different & different radiator fan grilles being the main ones.

Does it matter though? Probably not - the fact that all the 42s have been done using the same model (I assume they have, I haven't 'played' with them all to check yet) is also incorrect.

All the models look really nice but as has already been mentioned the sounds are a bit off IMO. Still well worth the money to get the pack though. I need to learn how to create sounds for this game

Can anyone advise if the sounds are any better than the default class 52, and do all the models have separate cab sounds?
The horn is dreadfull !! not even a laira special tone !
Inside the cab the sounds are only just quieter than outside which does sound really good, I have the sound pack which is very good but the exhaust takes a lot to get use too. Still in two minds to re download the other sound pack.

Have fun

Which sound pack is this - a new one from AP or someone else?

Opening windows on all locos, although doesn't seem to be modelled for the outside of the 52, opening doors on the Warship and class 35. But the 42 alone would make it worthwhile, the rest makes it even better value.

I'm hoping that AP will consider updating their Class 52 Pro sound pack so that it works with the new Westerns.

I agree the Warship is very nice.
I loaded the Western scenario and I have D1063 Western Prince. Ouch! D1063 Western Monitor or D1041 Western Prince would have been correct.
The Hymek definitely needs new sounds.
The Western will be a lot better if the AP sounds can be done for it.
But the Warship is the jewel in this pack with only a few minor errors at first glance and if you are not an afficianado of the class it won't matter to you.
The green Warship should of course have red backed nameplates.
If you are reading this and you haven't got it yet then you really should do.
I completed the Warship scenario and it really was like having a new toy to play with.
I'm sure some clever folk will now be able at some future point to develop enhancement packs which will make this a must buy loco pack.

Cheers,

Paul

As the manual doesn't tell you how to select a nameplate I added a lot of the 42s at Goodrington Sidings and checked them out. Nameplates are selected by adding a character between the number and the headcode so the example in the scenario, Zenith, has D867)2C58 in the number box. Sir Brian Robertson is D800a???? and Intrepid is D825z????. Jupiter is D826!???? and Zephyr is D868)???? - i.e. the shifted top row of the keyboard. I had a bit of trouble finding Zest and and Zulu. They follow the same pattern and use the square brackets: [ for Zest and ] for Zulu.

If you add a loco and it comes up as D827 the nameplate will be missing because the selection character in the table is incorrect. It's there all right but the character should be ".

I have had a quick squint at the Westerns but they look more complicated. It's the same pattern but the one I looked at had ä as the character. I wish DTG had given us the data without our having to scratch around for it.
