ok, last time from me on this route now.
Just did the Early morning to London scenario its a Taunton to Pewsey HST service (1A77)
Why start at Taunton and not EXD ? strange to me
The HST is in Reverse formation (not uncommon I know )
Passing Turbos again, A RES 47 on HAA wagons
No mention of Fairwood Junction on the HUD (and it is modelled wrong in my eyes)

And something else.
At Westbury there is no sign of the iconic White horse of Westbury on the Hill side and the chimney of the cement works ( I know its gone now) but this was an important land mark)
The Pewsey local misses out the Bruton stop
and why is the "morning stopper" starting at Bath and not BTM and the traction is a SWT 158

And the nail on the head a Silver class 67 pulling a very long rake (16 coaches I think) of scottish MK3 sleepers at Westbury.

bye from me (thats bye and not BUY) your choice.

Steve

Good job I didn't claim it was closed for either reason then.

I employ a rule of thumb with threads such as this one.

When people employ much effort to pull out of DLC, every last little detail that they are unhappy with - that means it's worth buying.

So I have. Downloading now, and looking forward to the new scenario opportunities this route presents :)

I understand Steve's,(safathome), point of view.
He lives there and any obvious detail which has been missed or is wrong will stand out like a sore thumb.

It was the same for me with the two routes around the Manchester area, Woodhead and Liverpool to Manchester.
There are errors in both which stand out to me as I worked over both routes as a member of train crew.

I could look at the new South Western Expressways and not spot these discrepancies as I'm not familiar with the route like I am with lines in the North West.

I'm waiting to see a route map before I break out my wallet. I don't mind JT routes, agreed they're not polished off to a standard that freeware routes can achieve (i'm thinking 1066 line here) but I can drive them. A bit of scenario research may be in order to :)

I really think a map is vital when any route is announced or advertised

True, but you did state the thread got heated.

Indeed, and the way I read the thread gave me that impression. I'm sure you'll agree that there is no merit in discussing what constitutes a heated debate in this thread though.

Are there any other screen shots available than the ones on JT's site?

I splashed out and have had a drive of the scenario through the flooded Somerset levels.
Firstly, I think that scenario is a clever idea and the flooded fields and lineside look quite good. The scenario runs from Castle Cary to Exeter.

I am familiar with the route in real life but not to the extent of where certain landmarks are. Having driven through the Somerset levels I felt that on the whole the view from the cab presented a fairly good looking piece of work. Once past Cogload Junction it became a case of comparing with other routes that cover that part of the railway to Exeter. The first thing I noticed was that from Cogload to Norton Fitzwarren it has been built in such a way that it is apparent that this was once a quadruple track section. The bridges, for example, are wide enough to have allowed four tracks under them.
The old footbridge at Norton Fitzwarren looks quite good and was recognisable to me. The M5 motorway can be clearly seen and although quiet in places it did have a fair amount of traffic on it.
I have read comments relating to other Just Trains routes about the same pieces of vegetation appearing to have been used rather a lot. Although the scenario I ran was a springtime run and the trees etc were bare I didn't feel that the same pieces of vegetation were overused.
Overall I like this route, from what I have seen so far and I feel that it is the best offering from Just Trains as far as the Taunton to Exeter section is concerned at least. I look forward to driving around the Westbury area.

Thank you to those who've produced reviews worthy of reading. I will be buying this tomorrow.

Some of the comments sadly reflect the self-entitlement attitude that stopped me DJing in clubs, refereeing football matches and organising music festivals. One event drew hundreds of critical comments for a charity event that had free entry. When I piped up and said I was the organiser and that we needed more volunteers next time, the forum went deadly quiet.

I finished a scenario for the NNL & Goblin lines a few nights ago, I was proud of it as it's my first. I was about to publish it, then remembered that I'd end up swearing at someone with a shopping list of complaints. Shame really, there are probably loads like me, sitting on perfectly enjoyable home-made content but simply not prepared to take the flack from the hissy-fit brigade.

Yeah, that was me with my scenario's, very rarely do I upload any now due to the rivet and accuracy counter brigade! :-? Might pick this route up in a sale, however I'm saving my pennies up for the Aylesbury route.
