WSR Wagon Pack SSS - super weights?

Post by tubemad »

Hello all,

Spent the last 5 hours designing the first leg of my gala pack with D1010 (Masquerading as D1017) from Williton - Bishops Lydeard demo freight. So I thought I'd use the WSR Wagon pack. I set up the complicated shunt to pick up the wagons and shunt about to Williton Up Platform. On coupling the wagons I could hardly move.

So I scrapped the whole idea and set the train up as one consist, and started it at Williton platform. Could I set off? I had to use 68% power to get going, and that was steadily working up to 5mph, if I dropped the power to just half, 50%, the speed drops, it's as if the brakes are all locked on either that or there's a thousand tonnes in each wagon. I've only got 8 wagons, two of which are brake vans at either end, and none of the handbrakes are on, I've checked that.

I hope I've done something wrong otherwise I'm just going to have to forget the scenario, I don't want to otherwise I've just wasted 5 hours for no reason :(

I am using the Class 52 megapack + AP 52 sounds + DTG Class 52 on WSR Members Edition version of the route.

Will another, preferably default, loco pull the wagons?

I'll try that tomorrow, if it does then theres still the issue of do I keep the scenario as it'll throw out the diagrams I've set. Demo freight arrives at Bishops Lydeard at 0905 with class 33 D6575 setting off from Lydeard at 0910 to Minehead.

I think there is a "brake fix" for the Westerns at the same location as where you downloaded the Western Mega Pack (assuming that you have it - by having D1017 I assume that you have). I think that's on the DPSimulation website.

Good luck,

Paul

Could the problem be a conflict between air brakes and vacuum brakes?

Ah I downloaded the pack from UKTS I didn't realise it was on DPS as well. Found the brake fix patch so I shall give that a try later. I didn't think it was a brake problem only last time I used an air loco on vac stock (DT MK1s) I could move it but I had difficulty stopping

I will report back if it works

Well it pulled away, until I put my head out the window it all went bang :o Dump file on me

So having thought that worked, I went into the editor to move the loco, however it won't let me see the loco. Any time I move over to the loco, it does a memory dump just as I pan round and just about get to the loco. I tried it at all angles but it refuses to let me go anywhere near it, very strange! :-?

So I made a new scenario to see if there's a problem with the new .bins, and I managed to place D1017 down and not crash on me. So tried to edit the other scenario again that I had with the wagons, and it still crashes.

I've had to delete the consist out of RW_Tool's and try again, it might be the .bin files changed to the loco already set up and got confused maybe? Anyway I'll re-add the consist's and hopefully it will work!

IT WORKS! :D

Mind you, after having deleted the train and doing it again caused a 'missing marker - Williton North Siding' error, I cloned the scenario, tried it again and the error went away so finally I got to drive it though it seemed TS was determined I won't !

Thanks for your help all, most appreciated as always!
