For instance, the BR103 had a form of cruise-control that is not implemented in any of the BR103 EL models.

I'd love to see that implemented in it's most prototypical form allowed by TS, it's something I've always missed on this model. I'd be willing to pay a modest amount for receiving such updates.
Just like the BR143 is lacking in features compared to the more recently released BR112 and others would be willing to pay for an update to that.

Would definitely second with you on this, I'd be more than happy to pay for a BR111/143 update to bring it up to the higher standards the new EL loco's have along with paying to have the control cars like the one that came with the 110 work with other traction like the 112.

As regards the BR 103, the history of AFB on the BR103 Series lok is not so straightforward, IIRC although a system was fitted to the prototypes, it wasn't originally to the production build until later, and I think that there was more than one try at it. Personally I am not a fan of AFB, to me it takes away the skill of driving, so I would not be happy paying for an upgrade only to incorporate this. Each to their own however. But ultimately I think the only way you would get these features would be a complete new release, as has been said before it would need pretty much complete re-scripting for the 143, and I suspect also for the 103. VR would rather release new models, and I remember the complaints about the amount of BR143's on the German forum before.
