Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
This is a strange one. As of yesterday evening, when selecting the standard scenarios menu, only six pages of routes out of the usual 13 in the drive menu are available to choose from. The routes that are available remain in alphabetical order but "cut off" after North East Rails. All 134 routes in my installation are still physically there but only the first 54 are available in the drive menu.
I've tried verifying the cache twice, assuming that whichever file the routes are stored in had somehow become corrupted, but no change.
Any thoughts anyone?

Alphabetically what route comes next in your collection after North East Rails? Maybe the culprit is in there?
Look at the date of the route folder. Sometimes after installation, folder dates reflect the most recent file change. Maybe it was altered or corrupted?

Re: Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
It's a little difficult to tell, as the order in which routes are shown in TS2017 itself is alphabetic, whilst the order in RW Tools is not. However, I think the next route, alphabetically, would be the North Somerset route, to which I've made no changes. In any event, as a DTG product, any corrupt files should have been covered by the cache integrity validation process.fsafranek wrote:Alphabetically what route comes next in your collection after North East Rails? I am assuming there is a master file that logs all routes in a TS2017 installation - if i were to find it and delete it, would it re-construct itself as the blueprint files do? If I'm right about this, does anyone know the name of that file?
Absolutely stumped over this one....

Re: Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
I'm fairly sure the file you want is ClientRegistry.blob, which is in the steam directory.
You need to stop stream running, and rename ClientRegistry.blob to something else. Then restart steam, when it should rebuild the ClientRegistry.blob file.

Hi Ash, try renaming/moving/deleting the SDBCache and RVDBCache files from the Content folder with the game not running then try again - the game should rebuild the caches & hopefully you will be back to normal. The ordering might be different though!

Re: Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
A few things have happened since June, when I was able to fix this problem thanks to the advice gratefully received, but now the problem is back and the previous fixes haven't done the trick. What's changed is that my CPU failed, so given the age of my PC, I have bought a new one, salvaging some old components and upgrading others. on reinstalling TS2017, I can only "see" 60 of the 144 routes installed (checked them all in Windows Explorer and they're definitely there). Moving files such as ClientRegistry.blob, TMCache.dat etc out of the Railworks folders has caused them to be re-created, but this hasn't fixed the problem. I think i#ve eliminated the possibility that the problem lies with the last route shown in the menu, as I have moved this but the problem persists. I've also cleared the cache and verified integrity.
Any ideas anyone?

Re: Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
Have you checked that the scenarios for these routes are actually installed? Do the routes, and any scenarios show in the build menu?

Re: Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
I have had the same for about 2 months+ now - maximum of 8 pages when there should be around 12 or 13 - seem to be principally the DTG DLC, but a few third party (no pattern observed).
If I go into Build then Scenarios, all routes and scenarios are there. If I then load a scenario in the editor from a missing route, save once loaded, then come back out to the Standard Scenarios in the Main Menu, the missing route is now there with all scenarios...this has on occasion returned the 12 or 13 pages
Spent some time searching for a solution. Tried ClientRegistry.blob & TMCache.dat deletion & rebuild but to no avail, though that did work previously...

Hi Rod
Interesting... the only pattern I've observed is that, oddly, no routes beginning with the letter "O" or beyond, alphabetically, will show in the standard menu. I'll try your idea of editing a scenario from the missing routes and see if that works. Thanks!

Re: Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
A route may reappear if you open one of its scenarios in RWTools and, without making any changes, save it in RWTools.

Noticed that as well - trouble is both of the above are only good for that session. As soon as you close down you return to the shortened list of routes next time you fire up the sim.choccy wrote:A route may reappear if you open one of its scenarios in RWTools and, without making any changes, save it in RWTools.

I have wondered if it is because of the number of scenarios that I have spread across 12 to 13 pages of routes?

Re: Routes Missing From Standard Scenarios Menu
I also wondered that, so I moved half of my routes to a location outside the TS2017 folders. No change though - this reduced the number of pages of routes but ones that I knew to be still there remained hidden.august1929 wrote:I have wondered if it is because of the number of scenarios that I have spread across 12 to 13 pages of routes?
