Which of their routes would you say has the most convincing scenery?

Re: RSSLO Summer sale
Personally I would say that both parts of the Suedbahn are reasonable if you use the community patches to add DB tracks and tone down the vegetation. The Mittenwald bahn is nice with the patch that uses the Albulabahn assets to replace many of the ones supplied with the route. Tauernbahn is also OK with the community patch, I don't have the Brenner Bahn, probably won't have it until a future sale. There is also a patch for the Brenner IIRC on RWA.

Re: RSSLO Summer sale
I thought about the 4020 but it's still full price.
I like the Brennerbahn route apart from the new high speed sections which are wrong
I could not find anything on RWA for the route in the Downloads - is it in the Forums?
Might go for the Bruck/Mur - Maribor without the SZ363 as I previously purchased it.

https://railworks-austria.at/index.php/ ... vegetation now expanded and replaces most vegetation on RSSLO routes with Albula line ones. There is a separate upgrade for DB tracks there as well.

Re: RSSLO Summer sale
Thanks for the advice.
I've never been on any of the routes so I don't know what is correct and what isn't. I'm more interested in which of the routes gives the best immersive experience; i.e. which feels most like you're actually on Austrian railways? Does that change your recommendations?

Re: RSSLO Summer sale
Well, it depends what you mean by ''convincing'' scenery, these layouts aren't made by DTG, so, have a lot more time put into them over many, many months and have been constructed by local people who live in the areas of Slovenia and Austria, etc, which reflects in how they have been designed and to the best that the game will allow with constraints on the game engine, everyone's computer specifications, the ground textures available, rockfaces on the mountains, the draw distance (which is still rubbish in my own opinion), so, lots of restrictions within the simulator, per se, however, these folks have done an excellent job on the Südbahn: Bruck an der Mur – Graz – Maribor Route that I obtained recently, maybe you saw the screenshots of the route I uploaded for forum readers to view, have a look below to see what this route looks like, I doubt if anyone else could have done a better job of it to be fair to the route builders, the scenery mirrored the parts of Austria that I have personally visited on holidays, of course nothing in this game can possibly reflect real life, unless every building, pothole and tree was individually made using phototextures and hand made custom built, you have to use a bit of imagination often in this game.IronBidder wrote:Which of their routes would you say has the most convincing scenery?

Re: RSSLO Summer sale
At the same time a number of these routes have had problems including the Brennerbahn which is ok on the older sections but the new high speed line is wrong.
This was the thread when the Bruck an der Mur-Graz–Maribor Route came out

Kufstein-Wörgl-Innsbruck-Brenner route

Tauern Route

So if you want a proper Austrian Route - get the 3CCC from Steam or Just Trains.
Great route with load of scenarios

Re: RSSLO Summer sale
But not in the RSSLO sale. Although word has it the steam sale starts tomorrow, "cynic mode on" could this be why DTG are pushing their own sale? we will find out tomorrow "cynic mode off"
Re: RSSLO Summer sale
I was planning to buy something from vR or 3dzug this week, but I might be tempted by this RSSLO sale...
There was a vR sale starting exactly on this date last year if I recall correctly, but now after the issues with the store and based on what Maik said we can be happy that instead of a sale vR's prices weren't increased...

Other developer's sales might influence DTG's sale pricing but the current Steam Summer Sale has been on the books for months. This link has been showing the June 22 date for a couple of months.holzroller wrote:But not in the RSSLO sale. Does anyone have the Spielfeld-Strass – Bad Radkersburg Route? http://www.rsslo.com/product/route-spie ... dkersburg/
I was considering it but one of their screen shots has an angled road crossing where the built up surface around the tracks doesn't align with the road very well at all.
Wondering it this is an isolated spot or typical of the route?
