Steve....
RW Tools will report as *missing* items that it can't find in the location a route is expecting those items to be--so you may have the *missing* assets, just not where the route is looking.
For stock, and that's what the ..\JustTrains\GreatWestern\RailVehicles\Electric\S8\Default\Engine\jt_s8_dm.bin (S8 tube stock)--a little more explanation from Skyline wouldn't have gone amiss--is and there have been issues with this one, either missing from the Chiltern route or WML--can't remember which. Anyway, for rolling stock items, just as with scenery, they can be truly missing, or in the case of RSC/DTG assets contained inside a .ap archive which RW Tools can't *see* inside.
I don't have Western Mainlines myself, so can't help directly I'm afraid, but I'll drop my chum (yes, contrary to popular belief I do have a friend) a line and see if he can be of any use.
Bricked up tunnel entrances

Re: blocked up tunnel entrances
I have found a tunnel that does not seem to be affected by this, its on the Ipswich to Liverpool St route and is the main one on leaving Ipswich.
Thanks for all your input so far, its pleasing to know that you take this on and try to help & hopefully solve this issue.

Re: Bricked up tunnel entrances
Well the US loco & Assets file was unchecked in my Railworks Steam catalogue so I installed it and ---------- it worked, on this tunnel anyway, checking other routes now.alien8980 wrote:I had this problem when I first bought Western Mainlines. I think I installed the US Loco and Assets file, which I didn't think was needed, either that try reinstalling European Loco and Assets pack instead, I'm sure it's one of them that's the cause of the problem.
Re: Bricked up tunnel entrances
just did a QD Kings X to Peterborough and, yes all the tunnel entrances were correct.
Thanks very very much - I wonder how it got unchecked - save that for another day.
Steve.

Re: Bricked up tunnel entrances
Obvious question is "why is a US asset used in a UK route when it's not even a region specific asset?"
Easy answer, both the US (..\Kuju\Assets\RailSimulatorUS\Environment\Terrain\Decals\Tunnel blueprint000.bin (actually in a .ap archive) ) and the UK version (..\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\Environment\Terrain\Decals\Tunnel blueprint000.bin) have the same name in the descriptive field of the file. The route builder has no way of knowing which one is being used.
It'd be interesting to see if renaming that UK file to Tunnel blueprint000.bin.X made the other end of the tunnels appear blocked--easily reversed of course by just removing the .X from the file name.
Luckily in this case, no further complications should arise with it being the US assets involved, having to reacquire the European pack could have led to a lot of work getting the installation back to how it was.
This is why we keep banging on about having a backup copy of stuff Steve; if you haven't got one now would be a good time to consider copying at least your Assets and Contents folders to somewhere safe.

Re: Bricked up tunnel entrances
Just could not sleep ! one thing I noticed with this - because I was driving trains overnight (time-wise, not in the sim) that I had lost all my AP sounds - well my defence was I had the volume turned down !gptech wrote:safathome wrote:Off on Hols to Croatia on Sat

I have reinstalled them all -and can report that the sound quality is back & the volume is now turned up again.
I am going to purchase TrackIR as a little birthday gift to myself, it looks straight forward to set up so I should be able to manage that.
Pula is a hidden gem but is getting more popular with holiday makers, the last 3 time we have had a B737, this year its a 757 - its such a tiny airport we will be out on the apron somewhere as 4 other flights are due in at the same time and they can barely cope.
Plug for the hotel (not sure if I should here) but I feel so proud & privileged to be going there again (just look at TripAdvisor). Park Palza, Histria
Back to TS and happy to say "more addicted than ever"
