The pack includes only SR liveries, so is this another loco release that will make you pay twice to get the more popular BR versions?

Price is USD20 or GBP16.65 over here - about time Steam adjusted their FX rates.

Actually I personally prefer the SR versions. And there's both black and green SR versions, both of them with and without smoke deflectors. And the carriages are Bulleid's rather than the ubiquitous Mk1's. So I'm quite happy with value for money in this pack.

(Now for some Maunsell carriages!)

Agreed, I've been thinking the same

Having said that, we reap the benefits when buying something from a UK site priced in £'s (e.g. from AP, SSS, etc), where a £5 purchase only costs around (US) $6.30/$6.50 (up a tad since the election was called)

Prefer the SR versions myself, especially the green. One option is to simply wait for the sales. In my case I will have to wait for payday, and the way things are maybe even longer until the sales, but I doubt the add-on will go anywhere in the meantime. BR version if it comes will be a sale purchase.

There's supposed to be a BR version to follow,I'll probably wait for it to be released,just hope you don't have to use this version for it to work,could do with decent Southern goods van's to go with it as well,or some Maunsell high window coaches

Looks like lovely model, I remember the Hornby model..

I must admit I prefer the British Railways period so will probably wait for those to be released before purchasing.

You mean to say Steam doesn't show their pricing for you in Aussie Dollars. They do show their prices in NZ dollars for us. $23.99NZ. Perhaps Steam think NZ is bigger than Aussie.

If you go a couple below that link, you have the "Queen Mary Brake", nothing more Southern than that.

What we need for this loco is a decent route to run it on, so it can find its speed legs.
Preferably a route of the right era, right location and available for the Workshop,
The only route I can think of is the SOUTHAMPTON TO WEYMOUTH ROUTE from Steam Sounds Supreme. It does not fit the request for a workshop route, but at least it fits the location and the era.

Hi,

Another route you could run them on is the back dated North London Line they were used on interegional trains from Feltham,they used to run on the Hounslow Loop as far as Kew Junction,then pick up the North London line,they used to go as far as Finsbury Park Goods Yard.

Going the other way they went through to Reading on freight trains,or via Staines,Chertsey,and the pick up the mainline to Southampton or Salisbury.

Feltham would make a good start for a route,it even had a Hump for shunting trains.

2 other suitable loco's would be either a H16 or G16,I can always remember a Adams O395 0-6-0 it used to shunt the coal yard at Inwood Rd Hounslow,Feltham had at least 1 allocated to it in the 1950's
