Any ideas? Thanks for any help in advance.
Same problem we've all had.

But if you create the new directory, and copy over the IOW third rail and the track rule (but rename the rule to lulltddistrictrailway.bin) it should offer a fix.

Copying files is only half of the job---the .bin files would now be in the *right* place to match the builder's setup, but the files those .bin files reference will be those in their original folders. In short 98% of what you've copied is just sat there taking up disc space and not being used.

If you run the route through RW Tools it'll tell you the track is present, as RW Tools will find the various .bin files (it doesn't examine them internally, just checks that they exist where they're supposed to) so to do the job properly you need to just copy over the .bin files the route calls for, and then open the files to get a list of what else you need to copy. Once you've copied those files over you should edit the .bin files to point to those copied files, rather than the ones in the IOW folder.

That though raises the issues of payware shape files potentially being distributed, and to be honest there really should be no need to *borrow* those assets---even if they're reskinned the track rule should ideally point to the reskins in the *donating* route's assets folder tree. That saves either a long list of stuff to copy, or a bespoke and potentially bothersome .bat or .exe installer having to be used.

JanVick, you say the RouteProperties.xml file is missing?.... you may have such a file but it has to be in the place that the route expects it to be, so make sure the file you can see is where the route is looking.

JanVick....do you mean the Route Template is missing?

EDIT:...have to edit this one 'cos I've keft it too long to ne able to edit the initial rant....

Those of you copying, or contemplating copying, the entire IOW RailNetwork folder are wasting your time...you only need the track rule, which should be renamed accordingly and can be left unedited as the route calls for track in the IOW folder. The missing decals don't matter, and the missing 3rd rail is best re-introduced by editing tracks.bin to point to the IOW folder, unless of course somebody (Xavier perhaps?...) can contact the route author and get a copy of that .bin and I presume the reskinned textures for it, and upload it somewhere/get the author to add it to Dropbox.

It's rather nice once you get it loaded...

OK...loads of milk bottles for the scenery there but they're easily worked through.

Aside from the missing 3rd and 4th rails, and speed limits, the route is excellent! The models of the D78 and 83 stock are fantastic also! About time we had some LU on TS!

Off to apply some fixes and go for another drive now!

No route template here. No track west of Hammersmith and no ground textures. Hope we get an update from them soon.

Minding the gap...

Three points to make...

Firstly - the instructions as prescribed above work for me; I have third and fourth rails.

Secondly - UKTS 22298 (Sean's Billboards) seems to be a slightly damaged file - this is true of the original on uktrainsim.com as well as the copy included with the route pack.

Thirdly - I'd like to say a big Thank You to the brave soul who - in spite of not being a RW/TS technician (taxi-drivers have The Knowledge but not necessarily the knowledge) - has published this route and this stock in the best condition he can. I hope he'll understand that, while we may be an ungrateful gang of moaners, we only moan about routes and assets that we really like.

Kind regards,

John M

Hi I've been having problems with the textures and I've been reading this trying to work out what to do.it has confused me to say the leastand I was wondering if someone could break down what to do.

All I currently have on the route is buildings and some track east of Hammersmith and no textures anywhere along it.

It takes 10 minutes at most to create a Route Template, all the information is in the RouteProperties.xml file. For those that can't do that, or sort out the track rule...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/auiqrclfqxvy7 ... s.zip?dl=0 contains the copies I've used. Just extract the contents of the Assets.zip archive into your Railworks folder.

Regarding contacting the route author, I registered a week ago and I am still waiting on staff approval of my registration. The route author would appear to be the only active member of the forum from what I can see. So unless someone on here knows him or was already a member, contact is going to be difficult. Of course he may take a look here, but I suspect he would already have done so if was going to.

Well, I've just downloaded the package and the first asset file in the folder is corrupted - 50x50roof.rwp, when you get inside it there are 3 files - 50x50.igs, 50x50.xml and untitled.blend and inside the texture folder are Darkgrey.ace and Darkgrey.tga, these aren't Railworks files are they, sounds like MSTS stuff? And I have no end of Unsupported Compression Method texture and GeoPcDx file errors when attempting to open the .rwp files, particularly some of Wilburton's, and there are hundreds of 0kb files, mainly in the rolling stock from Richard Scott, sorry, but, I'll have to give this a miss, until it gets sorted out, pity really as it looks quite good.

Cheerz. Transport Steve.
