Are there a lot of trees?
Bought The Kyle line from just trains in the Christmas sale, just getting round to driving it, and is it just my imagination or are there rather a lot of trees in this route?

From the blurb on Just Trains:
From them on you are driving beside various lochs, through farmland, dense forests, alongside craggy steep rock faces and over numerous streams. Along the way you will see 17 stations, including the one with the shortest platform in the UK!

Re: Are there a lot of trees?
I've recreated it as I saw it,in retrospect and having learnt more in the time since the route was released I should've used less 3D trees on some sections, but yes, there's some very dense forests on the route, just like the real thing, the Fir Forests in particular around Ravens Rock and Glencarron (west of Achnasheen). Of course since the route was built (using photos of 2011/12) a lot of tree clearance has taken place in some areas. (I'm aware of some clearance on Ravens Rock for instance).

Re: Are there a lot of trees?
The forests in question are those managed by the Forestry Commission. An area is densely planted, trees allowed to grow to a given height, then felled for use in a number of industries. The land is then allowed to lay fallow for a period to recover, when the process repeats itself. This is a continuous process, so the environment is constantly changing. Hence, the scenery on the route, as portrayed, represents just a brief moment, never to be repeated in the exact form. To portray these forests, the Asset Block really comes into its own, as large numbers of identical trees can be represented with little hit on the asset count and FPS. Similar forests can be seen on such routes as WCML-N
