I would also like to see the Bedford to Bletchley line added to the MML another hang out for first generation DMU's at the end of their life.

Marston Vale? You might just be in luck and no it's not me doing it

According to the internet:

ex·ten·sion

noun
1.
a part that is added to something to enlarge or prolong it; a continuation.

DTG made a route, and now they adding to it. Ergo , an extension.

Looking forward to this route.

Isn't there a link between the GEML and GOBLIN to the north of Woodgrange Park?

roballen555 wrote:How can it be "An extension" when this is a separate line,no OHL,no third rail, thats why the 172 ( Diesel ) runs the line,,at Gospel Oak there are buffers, end of the line,so this is an "Extra" bit of the Overground,,maybe they are putting the NLL and this together so it looks better,,its not an "Extension",you cant run the 378's on this route,Surrey Quays to Highbury and Islington would be an extension, and would have made more sense to extend the SLL,,but DTG do their own thing lol.
Yeah, just like those guys at TfL do their own thing..."Services are set to begin once again in February 2017, and with further evening and weekend works, the GOBLIN will be fully electrified by the end of the year, ready for a fleet of brand new 4-car Class 710 ‘Aventra’ EMUs to take over from the Class 172s in 2018."

It doesn't directly create a link between the two. You'll have to reverse at Barking to go onto the Goblin.

That 172 will look nice in Chiltern Railways livery (if the mapping supports it) and fill another gap in units to use on the Just Trains Marylebone to Snow Hill route . Just needs a LM class 172 to complete .

Yes, we have 68s, mk3s and DVTs, 170s as 168s, 165s and 220s for other traffic, just need to see if chucking a gangway child object on the front can work for an LM unit (I know it isn't that simple) - I too am hoping for kind mapping for a Chiltern colours scheme on the 172.

Saw a really nice pic of a Colas 60 heading a Llanwern - Tilbury steel train along the GOBLIN only the other day.. and a nice DRS66 with a Daventry - Purfleet intermodal. Currently closed for electrification upgrading until March? Potentially a nice route extension - but we'll have to wait and see!

Looking forward to the Class 172

I am not here to start any sound debates *please* don't turn this into an AP vs DTG debate, but all I hope is that the Class 170 sounds are not thrown onto it, I'd like a representation of the bus/coach sound.

Feel free to come over to our yard and record one of our coaches, won't be far off !

I've probably missed it, so could somebody point me to the bit that says a class 172 will be coming with the route? OK, the picture we've all seen features one, but it could easily have been of a diesel loco on a freight working so who's to say the bundled stock, if there is any, wouldn't be a class 710?

You're all to quick to do sums.....

Personally, I'm just looking forward to the junction between Gospel Oak and Upper Holloway being sorted so that I can properly access the MML from the NLL! I've tried doing it myself but it turned out a complete mess of 1:50 gradients.......

An expensive purchase for one junction.... but who knows I might just trundle down to Barking occasionally.

The article says exactly that.

Our route is based on the route pre-electrification but a certain staff member has advised us that he’ll be publishing the electrified version on Steam Workshop for everyone. Currently, there are no plans to do the Class 710 but that doesn’t mean we won’t look at them at a later date.

I think we can all guess who the certain staff member is...... Which in itself is very good news
