I can confirm that too, the Quick Drive can only be entered via the Build/Scenario edit menu and all there is a consist of Class 47 with Mk 1s as the player train and no AI as traffic.

The Quick Drive scenario can be cloned via the Build/scenario menu which give you a copy of exactly the same thing so doesn't solve anything, what needs to be found out is why the quick drive is not showing up in the quick drive menu of TS2017 so if anyone has any idea on how to sort that out that would be extremely helpful, thanks.
You will not see any AI as they are not generated until the scenario is started. At various locations, there are AI spawn markers, set by the author. Also, when you go into the QD through Scenario Editor, you should be at the player train spawn point, and should not see a consist, just the player train spawn marker. Double clicking on it will display its property box, showing the types of consist allowable, and possible destinations.
I am assuming that the route is Quick Drive enabled? You can always generate your own QD - there are several tutorials available, e.g. http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 7&t=135358

I don't have the route so can't say for certain, but my suspicion is that the QD scenario has been only partially set up without any player spawn points and/or destinations being defined. This would be enough to make it appear in the "Edit" menu but not in the "Drive" menu.

Richard Maxted's guide offers a splendid introduction to doing this yourself if you fancy a challenge:

Just got to say I love this route.I'm not normally keen on fictitious routes but this one is so rich in different detail and well constructed.I look forward to further scenarios, particularly up the western side of the route. Getting to stop so that my wife could hand over my forgotten lunch box was a masterpiece!!!

Well done & thank you

Yes Dumps this is certainly an excellent route. Have just completed scenario number five which is based on the west side. All these scenarios have been well done with plenty of AI and atmosphere making full use of the many lines and sidings of this route.Hope many more scenarios re produced.

I guess that if I was up for the challenge of creating my own Quick Drive scenario the fact the route is not available in the Quick Drive menu wouldn't be a problem.

As others are reporting that they can use the QD scenarios in the route, that rather refutes the theory that the QD scenarios aren't set up properly---still leaves the possibility open that they're not installed properly though---could one of you with working QD check the route's related Assets folder and post a screen shot of the contents of the PreLoad folder?

The one scenario that comes with this route appears to have been created as a Quick Drive but set up as a Standard scenario. I edited it to set it up as a QD and it works fine. I'm not usually interested in fictitious routes but having driven on it a few times including the electrified bit I can say it's first class. It appears to be the result of a Master Class in route building very good indeed.

Ok thanks for that I may have a look at trying to sort the QD out myself if that is all that is required to get it working, when I have more time.

So how do I edit the wrongly configured QD scenario from a standard to a Quick Drive as suggested by driverden?

I have the same problem. It doesn't show in the QD menu. If opened from the Build Menu and then run, it just goes to the AI class 47, and you can watch that move, but do nothing else!

Looking inside the ScenarioProperties.xml file, it already seems to be set up as quick drive in its scenario type (<ScenarioClass d:type="cDeltaString">eTemplateScenarioClass</ScenarioClass>), but there are no Starting or Destination points set up in it, so why anyone has it working I don't know.

I have deleted and re-installed in case it wasn't a complete download, but same result.

All I did was load the QD into the editor and add a Player Spawn point marker at the end of the platform with the destinations that had been set for the class 47. I have since expanded it a bit but it's still a simple QD with no AI etc. If someone could explain how to do it I could make it available on here if that would help.

As far as I know you would need to use the TS Utilites app to create a RWP file with the packager which you can then upload. someone with better experience than me could probably advise you beyond that if you don't know how to do that.

Hi all,

Just wanted to correct that this fantastic route is not in fact by me at all, I don't have anywhere near approaching the skill to do what the author has done here :)

The author is DJEspy (Steve) and full credit goes to him - and my thanks for the reference to me both in the route and in a couple of the scenarios, that was a nice touch :)

When I've run this route on the stream, I've found that I need to drop the "Scenery Quality" setting otherwise it crashes due to out of memory. To be honest, I now have this setting set to one above minimum as standard all the time and while there's a small drop in texture quality, overall the memory footprint of the game is massively reduced and I really don't suffer from out of memory crashes any more even on the busiest most complex scenarios that i've tried to run.

I've run three of Steve's scenarios so far and had no problems and can thoroughly recommend them! If you haven't seen the route yet, i've driven it a few times on my stream, though the videos are not yet up on YouTube. I see Steve has released at least one more scenario so i'm sure i'll be running it again soon :)

Matt.

I've recently subscribed to this route and one of the scenarios and, like those before me have said, I like what I see very much.

However, for those of us that like creating scenarios there appears to be only one single start point for the scenario marker. In build, new scenario, this is shown as "Route Origin" (Galphay Station) in the Set Location list. All other start points listed are for the WLoS route. When I create a scenario I like the marker to be at the start point, not miles away down the route.

Could someone point me in the direction of a tutorial or written instructions on what markers (if any) to use to get other locations to show in the "Set Location".

Any help appreciated.

John.

Thanks very much to the creators and to DTG for this route.
