How to export an screenshot into an OBJ file from train sim?
Hi everyone does anybody know how to export an image out of train simulator 2017 into an OBJ? My friend is helping me build a station and needs an image from google overlay to from the game into 3ds max. Anybody know how this is done? Cheers Ian.

Not entirely sure what you want to do, but I would guess the objective is to have a sort of guide to work from in 3Ds max? In that case, just make a screenshot in google earth/maps, save as a bitmap, and in 3ds max make a plane and assign the image as a material. You'll have to figure out scale somehow, but that is doable.
It is possible to export the track geometry as well as terrain geometry as a .obj from the world editor. I have never tried this but the general procedure is outlined in the TS2014 technical document "How to use TS2014 Technology Part 1", found in Railworks/dev/docs. Keep in mind that this does not export textures, only the basic mesh.

Ok thanks for the info I'll give that a try. By the way I've emailed you my model that I have been having problems getting into Train Sim 2017 I didn't realised you pm me in August so that's why I've took so long to respond.
Cheers, Ian.
