Re: AP Class 43 (Valenta)/Mk3 Enhancement Pack
I left the railway October 96, up until then certainly it wasn't permissible to run with both headlights. In fact at that time there were a lot of complaints from drivers being dazzled by headlights from oncoming trains. IIRC instructions came out which lights to use when running on multiple tracks, ie slow and fast lines etc. Did have a try to get one headlight only but couldn't find a way to do it, having said that I'm not feeling great and only had a brief run. Will have a play tomorrow. Heres a pic for you https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... 169045.jpg and another https://autobritanniadotnet.files.wordp ... 983624.jpg Looking through the books and magazines it would appear that this was a post privatisation change to use both headlights. If it can be changed it's not the end of the world though.

That's because the old Valenta pack wasn't a Pro pack.yerkes wrote:And just to anticipate the question, Richard Armstrong has confirmed on FB that (unlike for the MTU pack) there is no discount available for those who previously purchased the AP Valenta pack.

A question about ETS on the HST... Do you only have one power car to supply ETS or both?

Having already purchased the AP Valenta Sound Pack and recently the MTU Enhancement Pack there is no need for this pack at Full Price - it can wait.

It's well worth the purchase - most definitely one of the best AP add-ons I have bought, I have to say. It has (for me) brought a huge new lease of life to driving HSTs.

This is a strange thread where the title keeps changing from (MTU) to (Valenta) and back.
It makes the reading of which pack people are talking about slightly confusing.

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 43 (MTU)/Mk3 Enhancement Pack
I would agree, the Valenta Enhancement Pack is absolutely worth purchasing. All of the AP products are very good, but the Valenta pack is probably their best piece of work. The physics improvements, the extra functionality, the noise! Transforms the HST and well worth the purchase price.
Richard, I have no right to ask since I am not completely using the pack as intended, but I use the Joystick Helper software with a pair of home made, notched controllers. Functionally, these work perfectly for the brake and power and they add a lot to the driving enjoyment vs. using the keyboard. However, the brake notch sound, the click when moving the brake controller between settings, repeats frequently and randomly when the brake is at any notch other than zero. The clunk when moving the power controller works perfectly. Are the sounds coded differently in the scripts?

I think its possible a moderator merged both threads without realizing they're discussing separate products?
Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 43 (MTU)/Mk3 Enhancement Pack
Having bought the pack when it first came out and now redownloaded to have the wheelslip effects I am having problems with 20:28 Swansea to Swindon scenario that comes with it, although set on a summer evening I am getting very severe wheel slip, having driven the Valenta scenario in the autumn rain and found notch 3 to hold off wheelslip, I am finding the 20:28 to Swindon also slips in notch 3 and as such can not arrive a Port Talbot on time.

Try re-downloading and re-installing. I had a problem with severe wheel slip (MTU) in summer on steep gradients, but on the advice of AP re-downloaded and it cured the problem. I think there was a duff file on their download server for a while.david1 wrote:Having bought the pack when it first came out and now redownloaded to have the wheelslip effects I am having problems with 20:28 Swansea to Swindon scenario that comes with it, although set on a summer evening I am getting very severe wheel slip, having driven the Valenta scenario in the autumn rain and found notch 3 to hold off wheelslip, I am finding the 20:28 to Swindon also slips in notch 3 and as such can not arrive a Port Talbot on time.

I'm having issues with WSP too. Playing a scenario, PBO-KGX set on a dry summer evening and the WSP is making it extremely difficult to get to line speed (Hitchin from PBO & only just managed to reach 117mph). Have re-downloaded & re-installed to no avail!
