That will be my mistake

I just used the mouse to move the reverser to Neutral - which I assumed was correct.
And as the AWS & ATP both worked as they should it did not throw me - DOH.

Thanks Richard & Dinger

Hi All,

Can anyone confirm if the AP Class 43 headlights work? That is, do they cast light ahead of the train at night?

Cheers.

They do but like all our recent packs, only after sunset and before sunrise. This is to avoid the unrealistic sight of projected light in front of a train during the day.

UK trains don't use lights at all times then?

Well of course they do
But as Richard says the light given out in the Sim would be unrealistic.
In the same way the lights on US Locos are nowhere near as bright in the Sim as in real life.

david1 wrote:Love the enhancement pack, AP always adds something new to each pack they make, wheelslip in the 319, overheating in the 92ect. it is amazing what can be added to an old sim to make it better, keep up the great work AP, could we have some enhancements to the older locomotives 25,35,45,56 would be great.

just one thing I have noticed with 1 of the scenarios 1B46 Paddington to Swansea is that there is no exhaust coming from either power car, when the scenario starts there is a cloud of white smoke and then nothing afterwards, have tried a free roam with some of the other liveries and they all have exhaust, although not tried the BR blue or IC power cars yet, just wonder if it is a bug in the scenario?
I noticed the lack of exhaust in a scenario I wrote for the FGW HST. But then it got me thinking that actually I am not sure you do see that much exhaust on the MTU HSTs do you? Certainly there is little in evidence on the AP Promo video and checking back at what video clips I had shot myself of the MTU HSTs I can't say there was a lot to be seen in real life either. So I think that is how it should be.

Hi Richard, whilst this makes sense I was driving an HST this morning on the South Wales coastal route that set off at 0555 with lights illuminating but at 0600 they stopped projecting despite the fact it was quite dark outside and the station lights were still on. Did seem a bit dramatic.

Note that the times when the lights turn on/off are based on those used for sunrise/sunset in the Lighting Effects Enhancement Pack. If you don't have this then there's a possibility of things being off kilter towards the start and end of the day. We could possibly do a faded introduction of the light so it doesn't instantly go from all to nothing but I think we're getting into the realms of diminishing returns. Sadly this is just something the simulator isn't overly intelligent in dealing with.

I understand. Don't suppose this functionality could be enabled/disabled in the vehicle numbering as it is with the ETS?

AP Class 43 (Valenta)/Mk3 Enhancement Pack

Post by x5pgr »

I haven't seen any mention of this yet and really find it difficult to believe that everyone has been asleep on this one!

Live stream tonight at 20.00 and you probably won't be asleep if you listen to it.

I think you already have the MTU pack. The Valenta (original engines) are getting their own upgrade as well.

Cheers,
