I'm glad it's being made available to a wider audience, and the top quality 37 and DRS coaches will be much appreciated for workshop scenario's for those who purchase from steam ...BUT, as a loyal AP customer who purchased direct from AP, I am disappointed that I will be unable to access workshop scenarios or use the 37/mk2's in workshop scenario's myself. I feel like I'm missing out, having bought early. I would have just bought it straight from Steam in the first place had I known.

...And before the trolls start: I am big fan of AP's work, which I have spent a lot of money on, but I cannot understand this decision, it risks alienating AP's hardcore customers.

Has this been confirmed anywhere yet though? Apart from the route going on Steam, I cannot seem to find much comment elsewhere.

(Not a dig btw, a serious question).

It's unclear at the moment as to whether Workshop scenarios will download if you don't own the Steam version. This should become clear once the route is released. If they do, there's no reason why they shouldn't work as both versions are identical in terms of what's important for a scenario to work.

Would it be possible for existing Wherry customers to get a complimentary code to unlock it on Steam? (Ease of future installation etc)

Unfortunately that's not possible, sorry. The two versions aren't exactly the same either so they couldn't be treated as one of the same thing.

why should you get a complimentary code. thats like people who dont own it at present and will get it on steam wanting a code for the non steam version. it is not going to happen both companies are a business and this is how businesses work

So does it really matter as a "AP FAN" you should be more than happy with your current version. Or is it a case of because i dont have it one steam no one else shal get it on steam. If your such a "big fan" of AP nothing stopping you getting the steam version then is there

Well I for one am glad in terms of the bigger picture it's opened up more revenue options for Armstrong Powerhouse then there is workshop scenario and workshop extension possibilities and finally for any newer users it also vastly reduces the cost without needing any dependent DLC purchases for users who don't have the prerequisites to installed on their machines.

The only genuine negative I can remember reading online with regards to the original release was Lowestoft, so has there been any extra work done to the Lowestoft area?

I suppose it will depend if the Steam version installs to a different route folder than the AP version.

As I say, both versions are identical in terms of what's important for a scenario to work, which includes the path of the route folder.

Hope that helps clear things up a little.

The Steam version is identical scenery wise to the AP website version.

The Lowestoft area was done particularly well, i'm not sure why someone would say it wasn't!

Ah, I knew it was only a matter of time. There is absolutely no need for such a personal attack. Your post is extremely rude and contributes nothing of any worth to the debate- grow up. I can be a 'fan' yet still a customer, if I pay my money I'm quite entitled to my opinion, just because it's a game it doesn't change the fact that there is a supplier/customer relationship.

1) I bought the route straight away, I'm happy with the route, it's great. I would however appreciate the workshop functionality and the ability to use the included stock in workshop scenarios- without being charged double, as you suggest, if it came at a proportionate cost then I would accept that, but not double the price.
2) Nothing to do with not wanting other people on steam to have the route (why would I care?).
3) If it had have been communicated from the start, I would have waited for the steam version. It wasn't, therefore giving the impression it was exclusive to AP's website.

Yes I can see your point but your point number 3 about not been contacted is a little bit ott when AP first released the route they perhaps didn't know they were going to sell it on steam. How do you know for sure that when you purchased it at that time AP had intentions to sell it via steam

You just seem a little upset that you "rushed out to buy it" and now others are getting the Benifit of it in steam and your not. Which is understandable

And before you throw the "your being rude" card no I am not

I'm glad to see it's coming to a wider audience, which will also show others what can be achieved in TS2017.

I wonder if some of the minor scenery problems will be corrected, such as grass growing on roads and zero depth drainage ditches?

Interestingly, the DTG article seems to hint at 170s being included, which would be nice.
