I can't help with the uploading of scenarios to the Workshop, but if you don't have a route (or any DLC assets required) for a scenario you subscribe to, it does get downloaded to your PC--just not installed.
You'll find it in ..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\24010\731347542
(the last number may differ depending on the file)
Scenarios are downloaded in .zip format, named along the lines of "scnr_d3822cf9-1acb-40c7-8f18-40079bd42108.zip"--the numerical bit being the GUID of the scenario. Simply copy it out to the desktop and extract the files into your Content/Routes folder.

Also tbh this is a good move for AP as there will be allot of people all over the world who have never heard of there products or website so there's that great expansion to there customer base. yes people will be a bit angry and upset possibly of this but ap would have thought this through before making any decision. And f it helps keep them going and growing them that can only be a good thing and we should all be ssupporting them. Times are tough out there for small businesses so they need to take any chances they can get
I hopefully the route is a success and wish ap good luck with it
You're welcome. Computers being computers though, sometimes you may find one gets downloaded or moved elsewhere---this is when running a search on your Steam folder looking for files modified *today* (whenever *today* actually is) will soon find any newly installed files.
The equipment also appears to be unbranded, and the existing AP site requirements will make this a bit interesting. Will the Steam Wherry Lines Class 37 and Mk2 be a separate add-on?

Good point I didn't t think about that. I am sure the article on the ts website will be updated nearer release hopefully or if Richard knows anything he will let us know as TBH he is really good at keeping us updated on here.
I think it should be alright for W/S scenarios; I got the Bristol-Exeter route from JT and had no problem in workshop scenarios that utilised its rolling stock.

Drogba - is there any difference between the Steam version of the Bristol - Exeter route and the original Darren Porter route distributed by Just Trains way back?

For me it's the class 90 situation all over again, went and purchased on day of release only to find a few months later it was to be released on steam. I understand businesses have to move with the times , and I am still very happy with my purchases from AP, I just think it would be a good idea for AP to have a clear idea for what will just be sold by them and what they plan to release to steam. Maybe the class 313 will be next for steam... , as I said before anyone jumps on the bandwagon of well you don't have to buy it nonsense I am still happy with what I have and look forward to more great add ons that improve my playing experience.
Isn't the Steam version of the 90 a completely separate product though?-----liveries that aren't in the original pack so it can't be classed as a duplicate.
I guess we have to get used to the situation and try not to be emotional about it. Whether we want it or not, virtual railway assets are seasonal goods, with slow seasons:
Phase 1: Get the fresh fruit directly from the grower. He can easily supply batches via his own web-shop. Buying there makes a larger percentage of your money end up with him, although running a web-shop comes at a cost, too.
Phase 2: Get it from the supermarket some time later. Steam reaches masses of people that never find all the small web-shops of all the 3rd parties. It is dead easy to buy there and the platform does everything to trigger impulse buying.
We heard that getting something released on Steam is a long-winded process that can be frustrating. I am sure that they put forward a ton of rules which are the reason for unbranding, splitting of bundles, alterations in advanced functionality and similar. We heard that getting a fix through the pipeline can be a pain. People on the forums don't understand the delays.
So for the early adopter, buying at the shop is the better choice.
But then again, what you buy on Steam is certainly (?) tying in well with all the scenario and other stuff released there. What you buy elsewhere often works ok, if you are willing to give the files on your computer a little consideration and maybe copy a folder or two.
Phase 3: Get it for no money on Steam. If you are willing to wait for half a year and synchronise your buying desires with whatever Valve see fit, then you can get scandalous prices on what you get, when you get it.
Of course, with digital goods, seasons look artificial, but with clothes we got used to the same nonsense and there, it is artificial, too.
Phase 4: There is a new platform or base game on the horizon or even released. Alarm! Now all my expensive shoppings start to rot under my eyes. Just like my cloth that is in perfect shape but looks dated because someone decided so.
Yet if you are super cool, you can get a monster steal on a mega pack of yesterday's content, I am sure. You just need to enjoy it for yourself while everyone else goes crazy over the new platform.
We all have to decide when to buy. Frankly speaking, I cannot see any unfairness. Getting something the first day is more fun then waiting for it for half a year or more, while the others are already enjoying it.
I can see that it may be annoying if something does not work with scenarios from the Workshop. But this seems to need detailed analysis. And maybe some help from the creator, who will have some interest in continued value of what he sells through his own shop.
P.S.: The above does not refer to cases where two things are simply different products. With the maturity of the TS20xx platform, there is a host of classes for which there are many different representations & variations, from the same or different creator. That is a different story altogether.
I for one will always support the Phase 1 scenario. I buy from the original, third party builder because, without them, there is simply no product that can proceed to Phase 2, other than the supermarket's own-brand produce.
