Re: VP-Northern lines-Blackpool To Preston
Many thanks to the Vulcan Productions staff that took on the uploading of this very nicely created section {Preston - Blackpool} of the Northern Lines and thanks to all involved for version 1.1 of the route which installed faultlessly.
Regards, Roland.

Re: VP-Northern lines-Blackpool To Preston
Hi Mark
Please convey my thanks to all concerned for their time and effort regarding this route.
Installed without a problem, all scenarios test driven OK, with slight adjustment using RW Tools (stock).
Ventured on the extension to Lancaster, Carnforth, etc., absolutely fabulous!!
I realise there is a lot more to do, but on completion will be one of the best.
Kindest regards
Ray

Re: VP-Northern lines-Blackpool To Preston
Great stuff, installed no problem with all the assets.
Thanks to all involved.
Only thing, signals do not have AWS , is this the period for this route? couldn't find what year it's based on.

Colour light signals should have them but the semaphores as per real life do not.
Thanks for the kind comment.

In which case if someone notices something missing please use the Contact us feature on the vp site, and provide screenshots if possible,I'll be doing the patch from Monday.
Re: VP-Northern lines-Blackpool To Preston
This is a great route, one that I have used many times in the "real world". Many thanks to the developers for their excellent work.
I have all the assets installed, RwTools shows nothing missing except unpacked .ap files and the "decal" terrain textures, which I understand are not used.
However some of the semaphore signals ( I think they are by Chaddock Engineering) do not display properly. For example the signals on approach to Poulton-le Fylde in both up and down directions. The posts are there and the arms also. However the arms are underground at the bottom of the posts rather than at the top ! Also I cannot seem to select these items in world editor in order to adjust their position. Has anyone else got this problem and is there a solution ?
Many thanks for any help or advice.

Re: VP-Northern lines-Blackpool To Preston
I know this is absolutely no help at all... but that issue with the signals has been noted before and a fix supplied (by Messrs Chaddock I believe) but I can't find the relevant post. Hopefully somebosy else will remember and chip in.
Re: VP-Northern lines-Blackpool To Preston
OK thanks ! I've had a good search, but couldn't find anything either. Maybe the relevant post has a title that isn't directly related ? As you say, perhaps someone will remember where it was.gptech wrote:I know this is absolutely no help at all... but that issue with the signals has been noted before and a fix supplied (by Messrs Chaddock I believe) but I can't find the relevant post. It's good to know that there is a fix out there somewhere. I could always swap out the offending signals with something else I suppose, but I would rather not mess with such an excellent route belonging to someone else, if it can be avoided.
Thanks again.

The asset is ..\Assets\keithmross\WCML2\Scenery\Stations\WCML2_Station10sn5775 wrote: one missing texture on Platform 1 at Preston - can this be fixed? Am I missing a dependency?
and you seem to be having an issue with the
..\Assets\keithmross\WCML2\Scenery\Stations\Textures\windowtrans_nm.TgPcDx
file.
Firstly, use Windows Explorer to determine whether you have that file installed.
If you have, drop back into the game and in the graphical options turn your "Scenery Density" up to as far as it'll go---don't worry about this having any effect on your performance for now, we're trying to determine just what is wrong and if you need to drop it back there's a way round that yet still getting the glass texture to display.
Test again if you've found that you do have the texture and have turned the scenery density up.
If that works, and you don't need to turn the setting down again, great...enjoy.
If you must run at a lower scenery density post back.
If you don't have the texture file in question a verify would put that back---I won't say soon put it back as it could take a while![]()
This however is a bit drastic to reacquire a single 6kb file, so if it is AWOL, post back.
Many thanks for your reply.
I remembered having a similar problem with missing textures quite some time ago and was given some advice which has helped me here.
The first thing I noticed was that the windowtrans_nm.TgPcDx file was missing. I extracted the file from the .ap archive and then tried increasing the scenery density in the graphics options which did not resolve the problem.
I remembered from the previous problem to make a copy of the windowtrans_nm.TgPcDx and rename the copy to windowtrans_nmc.TgPcDx (is this what is known as compressed textures?)
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that this has resolved the problem with the missing texture – I hope that this is the correct way to resolve the problem.
Kind regards.
