Graphical Glitch with Great Central after TS2017 upgrade
On the Great Central Railway from Steam Sounds Supreme, is anyone else having a problem with grey sheets in the sky and blocking out the forward view, since TS2017 came in?
I didn't have the problem before, and I have tried re-downloading and reinstalling, but made no difference

Chris,
Which scenario or which consist? I've just run Witherslack Hall on the GCR using the provided SSS scenario and I don't have any issues like that.
That sounds like a reskin that was made for an older version of a loco. Not saying it is, but it sounds like it.
David.

Actually, that's exactly the scenario that I started with - prompted by today's SSS update of that loco. But then I tried the 8F scenario with the same results.johnbarron wrote:Chris,

I also notice that the "opaqueness" of windows in rolling stock is weird - very "bright" and stands out - maybe connected? Tried several other routes, and no problems elsewhere.

I also noted that the brass fittings in the cab interior of Witherslack Hall - in that scenario - is very bright, almost "luminous". So I tried it in a free roam on the TestTrak, and it is fine
So I am convinced there is something going on with the graphics in GCR (maybe weather??)

Chris,
I just tried "To the Power of Eight", assuming that's the 8F scenario you mean, and no sign of any strange graphics.
Not helpful I know, but your problem doesn't seem to be universal.
John.

Clearly not everyone's problem! But anyone else? Here are some screenshots - with "panels" of grey or black.
I have fully reinstalled the whole package, but it's making no difference. No problems with other routes

Re: Graphical Glitch with Great Central after TS2017 upgrade
Hi Chris
I had exactly the same graphical glitches last week, but on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway route, co-incidentally also available from SSS.
Check which assets the GCR uses with RW Tools - if it's the same cause as my problem, I narrowed it down to old files in the RSDL\IslandLine\Scenery\Vehicles and Wildlife folders = it seems some of those files have become corrupted by the TS2017 update.
I replaced the files by going into the Steam library and unticking the Island Live from my list of add-ons, exiting Steam then going back in and re-ticking it. This downloaded a new set of IslandLine files which work perfectly - graphical glitches eliminated.

Re: Graphical Glitch with Great Central after TS2017 upgrade
Thank you Ash!! That did it!
From memory, the Island Line has caused other problems in the past with routes or assets which are dependent on it. Maybe I should have thought of that first
Thanks for the replies, John. FYI, Witherslack Hall (in BR lined black) is a fully customized reskin of the West Somerset Modified Hall, and free on the SSS site - an excellent model if you have the West Somerset route
Many thanks both

Chris
Excellent - glad that worked for you!
You may not realise it but I'm indebted to you for some advice you provided on the forums a while ago about scenarios not appearing in the route menus, to which Gary Padley recently referred me. That sorted out my problem a treat!
