Marseille to Avignon. Handling the TGV!!!

Post by yyyyamst »

I am having problems with the correct handling of the TGV braking systems. Does anyone know the correct braking methods for this Train? At high speeds the Dynamic Brake is all or nothing to get bite and a good rate of slowing down. The Direct Brake is tricky, watch out for the Emergency Brake activating!

Pity the package does not also include a short tutorial for Train handling as is for the Signalling Systems.

Hi

I am using the throttle for accelerating and braking most of the time, which works fine for me. The direct brake I am using only when the thottle (dynamic) braking action is not sufficient. It is very important though that you watch the TGV signalling information, ie. the current and to be expected speed-restrictions, carefully and reduce speed in a timely manner. I suggest you do the signalling tutorial again and see if it works for you too. Just try to drive with the throttle/brake only.

Good luck,
Jos
