Talent 2 LZB

Post by TheAlbanach »

Hello. On this article is says the Talent 2 should have LZB but I've never managed to get it to work. Has anyone or is it on on this train? http://train-simulator.com/shop/db-br-442-talent-2/

Hi,

as far as I know DTG is somewhat lazy updating their manuals for each train. In fact the Talent 2 has no LZB, at least not as far as I know. Given the maximum speed of 160 km/h it also is not as necessary as in other trains. And I personally find driving with PZB more interesting, as it is somewhat more challenging ;).
Hope that helps.

Kind regards,
Sumner

The article says the unit has LZB but I think they should have said AFB.

As there isn't an on/off switch on LZB fitted locos/units it will come on automatically if fitted when running over a LZB fitted line.

Interesting the Talent 2 doesn't have LZB, there are other EMUs that have LZB equipped such as the BR420, 423, and 426, still they don't really use high speed lines. Correct me if I'm wrong

Even when you go onto a LZB line it stays with PZB. Will fire off an email to DTG and ask, although I've never had a reply from them.

Having looked thru the manual for the BR 442 I cannot find any reference to it - on which page is it?

I do not see any display on the control panel for the BR420 and it does not get mentioned in the Manual.
The BR 423 does have LZB
