My TS2016 session tonight has been disrupted by problems with my screen. Its hard to explain, so I'm attaching a picture in case anyone has a solution for it.

Never seen anything like that before. Could be a faulty monitor or graphics card. Also check that your cable between your computer and monitor hasn't become lose, that's if you have a desktop computer. Computer specs and OS may help. Whether desktop or laptop.

That looks more like a hardware than a software problem. Do you had any more games to fire up and test?

It's a dell XPS8500, with an AMD Radeon 7570 HD 1GB DDR5 graphics card. I am currently unable to run it except in Safe Mode.

I had the exact same a few weeks ago, sounds like you need a new graphics card to me. (Though I'm no PC expert....)

Yes, safe mode will probably use the on board graphics, which is how it is working. Take out your graphics card and attempt to boot normally and it should work.

Do you get screen corruption like that when in the bios? A failing video card will often effect the bios as well so if that displays fine then it may not be a faulty card, first thing I would do is remove and re-insert the video card on the motherboard to make sure it's seated correctly and then remove all trace of the currently installed radeon video card drivers and re-install or grab the latest version if your not currently using the latest one.

Yep your graphics card has failed, that is why you can only use your computer in safe mode. Had the same experience over 18 months a go when my graphics card failed. I could only run my computer in safe mode. I got a new card and put it in the computer and everything was back to normal.

Unless the onboard gpu has been enabled in the bios and set as the primary gpu then the radeon will still be the gpu in use and not the onboard when the system is booted into safe mode, the card will be using generic windows drivers though instead of the radeon drivers.

Oddly enough, it seems to be working fine now, although I haven't tried TS. Another graphics card is on the agenda though.

And no sooner do I load TS up than the problem rears it's ugly head again.

The extra load/heat will be the cause; is the fan on the card running?

It should be. Looks like it'll have to be looked at tomorrow. I've got another card lined up just in case.

Graphics card confirmed dead. Can take a slightly more powerful one (AMD Radeon 7700 from 7570) for £30 as "new old stock" or get a brand new one (GeForce GTX 950).
