NVidia or Radeon?

Post by NickG »

It looks like my graphics card is about to croak. At present I have a Radeon R7 260X.
I am told that PhysX applications will run better on an NVidia Card, Am considering going for an MSI GTX 970, anyone any experience as to how TS2016 runs on this?

The game doesn't support hardware PhysX, it's all done in software it matters not if you opt for AMD or nVidia in that respect. In terms of what you see/experience on screen a 970 offers nothing above that given by a 960, so if you don't play other games and the budget is constrained a 960 is all you need.
What does matter is the amount of video RAM, the more the merrier if you wish to use the higher AA options.

(yes, I've used both a 960 and 970)

Look at the opening screen for TS2016 and see which graphics card maker it favours. :D
In one FSX survey it was found that 2/3 of simmers used NVidia cards.
I always choose NVidia but that is probably a biased personal choice.
The new GTX 10xx Pascal series run TS2016 very well.

Yup, NVidia is the way to go personally.

My 970 performs perfectly, great choice and one I do not regret buying.

Many thanks,
Nick

Depends what era etc. floats your boat. For older stuff, Weardale and Teeside or Woodhead look good. Woodhead's an old route but the massive industrial area as you pull out of Manchester looks amazing imho. For more modern stock, South London, North London, GEML and Chatham all look pretty sweet.

970 is a great card, just about in the sweet spot for performance vs. price.
