Island Line Gone
Installed Wherry Line on my pc but there is yellow and black hatching at rail level. Ran it through RWTools and it cant find the Island Line assets. Looking at the list of routes on my drive it appears to be missing
. I purchased this when it first came out, dont know how long its been gone as I have'nt used it for a long long time. I found it by doing a search on Steam and it does not show that I own it and when I try to purchase it im getting an error. Has something happened to this route that has passed me by.

Re: Island Line Gone
Did you perhaps purchase it before the Steam delivery method had been taken on board? If so you would have an installation disc or download link etc and that may get you what you're after.

Re: Island Line Gone
Don't know if it makes any difference but are you sure you bought it from steam and not just trains. I think they are the same route but might have different route numbers in game. I may be wrong just a thought. Also if it is the JT have you done a fresh install of ts recently and possibly missed installing it from JT website

Pretty certain this first came out pre-steam. Not to worry I bought it again only a tenner, I dont run it, but it's used a lot in freeware routes.

Re: Island Line Gone
Is there anything in your \railworks\Assets\RSDL\ folder?
That is the home for the Island Line - now called the Isle of Wight Route

Re: Island Line Gone
Yep - The Island Line (as it was then named) was one of the default routes available with the first version of Train Simulator (which itself was then called "Rail Simulator" and then "Railworks") in 2007. It was available only on disk then, before Steam became the online delivery method. I think it's stood the test of time pretty well.lwaxl00 wrote:Pretty certain this first came out pre-steam. Re: Island Line Gone
Isle of Wight was the very first add-on route IIRC, back in Rail Simulator days. The JT version will have the same Assets folders, etc, but Steam obviously won't recognize it, so it won't be usable with Workshop stuff.
And as others have said, the folder is /Assets/RSDL/IslandLine

Re: Island Line Gone
Pretty sure (but as in all things, I could be wrong!
). This was back in the days before Steam and although I vividly recall buying the boxed disc, opening it up installing and running the sim for the first time, I don't recall buying any add-ons. IIRC, there were three UK routes - Paddington - Oxford, York - Newcastle and the Island Line, together with a European one that I can't recall (but possibly Donner Pass).
EDIT - You got me thinking there Gary so I thought I'd check. You're right, the first version of the sim did not come with the Island Line - the three default UK routes were York - Newcastle, Paddington - Oxford and, of course, the Somerset & Dorset! Hagen - Siegen and Cajon Pass were the other two routes. I can't seem to track down exactly when the IOW route was first made available but it's certainly a while ago as it was published by RSDL.
Another Edit - Richard Armstrong was the first to post that the Island Line was available as a new download route on 23 May 2008: http://www.railsimulator.com/en/node/3253

Re: Island Line Gone
I started with Train Simulator 2012 / Railworks 3 and that did not include the Isle of Wight line.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RailWorks_3
TS 2013 did include the Isle of Wight as part of it's default routes.

Its amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years freeware or purchased. Im sure there's loads of software I've bought for this game that I cant remember. What was the route from Harwich to Maningtree was that freeware.

Re: Island Line Gone
That'll be the Mayflower route - a lovely freeware route that I still use, despite having the payware GEML. My biggest disappointment concerning old but great freeware routes such as Llanberwyn, Llangollen, East Somerset, etc, is that gradually, they've become broken with the annual updates, to the extent that most of the scenarios no longer work.lwaxl00 wrote:Its amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the years freeware or purchased. Fortunately, and returning to topic a little, one of the old freeware routes that still does work superbly is the Isle of Wight Network, now up to version 7 I think!

Yes that it a nice route - gave the 3H a run over the line yesterday coving the steam loco & stock on the evening Ryde - Freshwater.ashgray wrote:lwaxl00 wrote:Fortunately, and returning to topic a little, one of the old freeware routes that still does work superbly is the Isle of Wight Network, now up to version 7 I think!

I had to change the scenario in a few places where it does not need to run round at Newport.
