Chinley V2

I had to delete last nights upload of v1 because a signalling error/mistake/headache or what you want to call it....
Change one thing about signalling and every scenario has to be re tested... groan groan....
Most scenery runs from New Mills Jct to nearly Bamford or Millers Dale / Buxton, you can run through to Sheffied Midland but its up to you, there is bits and bobs of scenery.

I expect you are already aware, but I had a response from Glynn Waite of the Rowsley Association about the Grindleford down distant, he said it's in the tunnel and is a ground mounted two aspect colour light.
Keep going!

John,
Your continuing diligence is much appreciated!

PS Wasn't USS Voyager the one that never quite ended up where it intended?

Thanks for putting this route together. My sister used to live in this general area of Derbyshire (Charlesworth, actually) and I cycled the Monsal Trail while they were there. Such a beautiful place.
One nitpicking note on version numbers. Generally a leap from v1 to v2 denotes some serious changes (like adding the scenery all the way to Sheffield). If you are making a fix to a version without changing it substantially, then it's reasonable to call it v1.1 or even v1.0.1 if it's a very minor change.

cheers Dave I put a semaphore distant (stop smiling) in the tunnel but only diesels and locos with a forward veiw can see it, will change it to colour light in time... trouble is you have to place it above ground and the drop it down into tunnel and hope it goes into place as sidewards movement is not an option when below ground level.. trial and 100 errors method used.

Really enjoying this route - thanks very much!
I appear to have some assets missing though at Chinley - I'm guessing a footbridge and maybe a signal box because there are signs floating. I'm at work now so can't check at the mo, but I'm sure I installed everything on the readme.
Great work though and thanks very much again.
Cheers
Ken

Sometimes this is caused by the scenery density setting under Graphics Settings/advanced. See if these assets appear if you set the scenery density to full. I am still downloading the route and assets so I cannot check myself at the moment.

Hi Jos
It can't be the sliders as they were maxed out - but I will check this again. Thanks for the suggestion

I can see all five Chinley boxes (two at the station and three on the triangle) and they all seem to be Whittaker/Midland boxes which come in two sizes. Curiously a couple seem to have doubles almost on top of each other but these duplicates are easily removed in the editor if they irritate.
If you don't have these "assets" I am pretty sure they are these:

I think the footbridge at Chinley is physically missing for some reason. The steps are there and the bridge itself should be in the same scenery package.
The signal box nameboard at Chinley North Junction appears to lack a texture file. Other signs I have seen seem fine.
I echo the comments of others on the excellence of this route.

I'm liking this route and I started to modify one of the scenarios from a Steam loco to a Class 45.
The scenario, Manchester - Derby Express appears in RW Tools but it does not appear in the Route when I go to edit it.
Not sure why?

I'm very impressed, I drive to Rowsley from Manchester twice a week and you've really captured the feel of the area
On the route I've driven the free roam Jubilee down to Rusher Cutting tunnel, reversed back to the triangle and on to Buxton, and the Manchester - Sheffield scenario, unfortunately approaching Dore and Totley too fast and derailing the Black 5, that'll teach me!
I've got loads of photographic references, if you need anything for the scenery extensions please feel free to pm me.

Ok I've checked my settings and they are maxed out. The building that seems to be missing is Chinley Goods Shed, well that's Looking at the 9 view and track plan. Funny it only appears to be me that's missing this asset but there you go
I'm just going to try to re-install the route again. Incidentally this is the first time I've installed the route so there are no other older versions on my h/d.
I'll post again to let you know what happens - just in case there ARE others with the same problem

I've tried re-installing and not only is the goods shed still missing but there are now gaps in the track around the pointwork. Also a blue sign reading "Langenhausen" seems to have appeared (unnoticed before anyway) halfway up the cutting at Chinley station!!
Not sure what's going on but I'll run it through RW Tools when I get a chance.

Im unsure what is happening on TS 2016..but everyone each time they run scenario finds a different thing missing/duplicated/ added.
Example.. 2 signal boxes on same place.. now thats my fault.. a box was missing ( Chinley and New Mills for example) they were there if you run cusor over them but then dissapeared again, so I replaced them now sometimes there are 2, as mentioned just delete one. Another time every tree and hedge at Earles Sidings was doing the same.
New Mills up.. you will get booked for speeding over 15..but I checked and its not 15 except the connection over to the fast.
Not met things like this before in my 10 years route creating.
At least I have no more hair left to pull out..
