I thought Jupiter was a 'Warship' so you had me peering into that screenshot for quite a while looking for it.
On the subject of what worked over the banks, well, anything goes was what happened.
I can't recommend highly enough the book "Summer Saturdays in the West" by David & Charles. It focuses on Saturday 26th July 1957 when utter chaos reigned supreme. But for us it states what locos were on what trains and how many coaches.
For example, the 09:35 Bristol to Penzance departed Newton Abbot behind 7034 & 7018 on load 10. Which reminds me that my brother used to have a record called "Two Castles to Plymouth".
For Kings though, the ultimate workings were the 10:30 and 10:35 ex Paddington. On arrival at Newton Abbot the King on the 10:30 would come off and be replaced by a pair of engines. On 26/7/57 6026 was replaced by 4931 and 7809 on load 14. 6026 then went on the front of the 10:35 and piloted 6025 on load 14 to Plymouth. One of the most interesting workings on that date was the 06:00 Penzance to Manchester on load 14 between Plymouth and Newton Abbot which had 7813 and 4176!
But of course what we really need is a Hawksworth County.
Bloomin' marvellous route, how did we survive without it.
Thanks,
Paul

Thought I'd try out the Warship on this route, as that's its natural home. Awaiting departure at Newton Abbot, joined by a Hymek, then a Peak, with a couple of Wizzo's stabled in the background:

Ash,
Where did you get that beautiful cabview for the warship. I have only the basic version seen below:

I hope your version is readily available, it would make a lot of difference to the driving atmosphere.
Mike.

Hi Mike
The photos for the Warship cabview were taken by me about 5 years ago, in the cab of D832 at Williton on the WSR. I made them available to Mike Whiteley, who did the serious work of converting them into a cabview for the sim to use. Sadly his Warship, which was a great model, is no longer available - yours looks like the Voldemort version!

Hi Ash
I can remember the class 42/43 Warships on the Waterloo - Exeter Trains in the 1960/70's,after the route beyond Salisbury was handed over to Western Region, luckily they didn't do the same hatchet to the route, unlike the S&DJR,even though they tried hard by singling the route and closing stations.

A track rule assigned to a loft or road is not needed---it's a quirk of the editor and can be happily (and safely) ignored.

It's a real shame that there isn't an available Warship for those who missed out first time round, and surprising as DTG have the back catalogue of the developer that ceased trading and also that Mike Whiteley is still around. Perhaps a few emails are in order?

Thanks for your reply gptech.

I would like to see it available too.
Must admit it is a bit odd, especially to withdraw a prevoiusly published product.
Would like to see that big crane too.

I've been dropping hints over the last year, when any new Western Region route comes out,the Warship is really needed, for the routes to be realistic.
In fact the Warships entered service long before the Westerns, yet we have a Western but know Warship, also we could really do with the last GWR steam locomotive the Hawkesworth County Class, ideally County of Middlesex.
