Wrong, wrong, wrong!!

The issue arises when folk producing routes/reskins make a complete hash of extracting files from .ap archives. In this case, and many others, they've created an erroneous WCMLTrentValleyAssets folder and the *right* way to fix it is to use RW Tools to reference those assets in the correct location (..\Assets\Thompson/WCMLTrentValley/Network in this example) and inform the creator that they've made a mistake.
The assets aren't packaged (ie: included) in any download, only referenced, so there's no need for anybody to extract these assets in order to package a route/reskin up.

Hi sorry wasn't trying to be critical, but try and indicate where the possible errors were & to help you save time - the quick short term solution for me to see was to create the folders and copy into them & then run the route from London to Norwich & see if everything appeared

I agree the solution is to use RWtools to set the references correctly & I apologise if I implied otherwise

Hell. no need to apologise to me Kelvin...nobody else does

The trouble with posting 'quick, short term solutions' is that folk read them and accept them as being THE solution, whether you followed up the quick fix with "this is a workaround at best, the best solution is to......." or not.

The route template listed in RouteProperties.xml D:\program files(x86)\Steamzsteamapps\common\railworks\assetts\rsc\GEML\TemplateRoutes\GEML.bin could not be found.
Any Idea where I have gone wrong? Will it show up as a seperate route to the RSC version or the same route?
Thanks
Richard
Well, I would have thought your folder pathing structure error would stick out like a sore thumb, I doubt if anyone else in the community has a folder called that in their Steam/Railworks installation, that'd be the first thing to sort out, really.

First of all, from what I've seen of the route, this is an excellent extension with great attention to detail - many thanks gypbrc.

I too had some missing signals, but applied the fix suggested earlier on in the thread (and on FB) using rwtools - this worked. Also the Crown Point fix worked.

The only areas I'm having trouble with are missing scenery north east of Manningtree and also missing scenery at Norwich - it appears I'm missing tiles 000029 000077 and 000029 000078 from the scenery directory (the Norwich station area). I guess this could be due to a corrupt download from the workshop?

Anyway, I've a feeling these issues will not be too troublesome to solve and many thanks again for this excellent add-on.

Actually, having just reread gypbrc's post, the Norwich tiles I'm having trouble with would be added in afterwards by the additional patch(rwp file) due to the requirements of AP Wherry route (which I own). So it looks like I have a partially corrupt download of the rwp file rather than the workshop file? I can't see those Norwich tiles I mentioned if I extract the rwp with 7zip and look at the contents.

That could just be a typing error Steve, he may not have copied/pasted the path.

Also,

it doesn't indicate a problem in his directory structure (if the odd spelling is correct) as RW Tools reports what the route files are pointing to, not the state of the users structure.
The file may not be being found by RW Tools because it's in the .ap archive rather than being extracted. Not a problem, the game will still be able to read it.

Is it back up on Steam Workshop ? If not where can it be had ?

I only ask, as there seems to be a lot of discussion about a route that seemingly is ( temporarily I hope ) unavailable.

Good luck to the author in solving the problems in his own good time.
